The least amount of buzz ever for Pitt PSU

I agree. The Pitt football team looked like it rode in on a clown car lto this game last season. Looked like we brought back Dave Hart.

Narduzz's seat is going to warm if he loses to both Penn State and UCF. And if these are blowout losses with Pitt looking inept again turn up the heat.

Seriously,

No buzz, no excitement, no anticipation. Very little local attention and none rationally.

One of the greatest rivalries in CFB has become nothing more than another OOC game.

Let's just be done with this. Kick their ass tomorrow and never look back.

The tv ratings have been disappointing, middling.

Where has this board gone to? It pisses me off to be honest. The same fans in here that still preach about 13-9 were probably going blowing that game off too because of Pitt record that year. Fake fans. Have some damn hope. Can we get blown out? Damn right, but we can also go down into CFB lore tomorrow and beat those asses who talk down to us like we mean no good. I am going tomorrow and will be screaming my head off for the panthers while we have olds in here bragging that its not even on their radar. Fake fans like you read about. Imagine posting on a teams football message board, during your free time, yet not watching or supporting the team. Honestly, fans like that, just leave. But when we possibly upset these guys tomorrow. Don't jump back on the bandwagon, i will remember who you are and will call your butt out every time you post. Now on to University Park. HAIL TO PITT!

You have one thing wrong --- everyone who is downtrodden about this, WANTS Pitt to win.

Lol I can speak for many I'm sure, that some Pitt fans care to an unhealthy degree! Haha and 51-6 was literally borderline emotionally traumatic!

If Pitt wins, I would take my lashings from those who never lost the faith, with a huge smile on my face like a Masochist! Lol

51-6 was just cruel tho by Franklin....and he loved it and kept trying to push it...and after that I'm more looking at this game, like a Fight where our guy probably won't even be able to defend himself lol. Just hoping for no injuries, lick the wounds, and come back home to prepare for UCF ha

Pitt can win this game. They have been on the big stage before. They remembered getting rolled last year. It's on their minds. It will show tomorrow.

Where did I say that? Making a pretty big inference that's not there. Get a clue

Point is it used to be that these rivalry games are the most important game on your schedule. The makeup of several of these mega conferences has significantly diminished the importance of several of these old school rivalry games. Clemson and South Carolina and Pitt and PSU and Iowa and Iowa State and Pitt and WVU all should be in the same conference

Now that is something I agree with.

There’s no buzz about Pitt football in general because apathy has set in. We haven’t won enough to create a sustained buzz which creates fan. We just have to hope that we invigorate the base & create a generation of new fans with some great seasons.

The hype of this rivalry is dead because Pitt is not ranked. Also PSU is a "space filler" in the top 25 by beating nobodies non conference along with the bottom tier of their division. Neither team provides big time status. PSU gets a lot of more attention for the # of people who show up to watch the game then they do for their play against quality teams.

Yep. I've already made plans to get a few things done around the house and use this game as background noise. I'm 100 times less excited for this than I was for the season opener, and I wouldn't be surprised if I'm turning it off completely by halftime or the end of the third quarter.

Hahahahaha. Challenge!

Honestly with Pitt and PSU in different conferences this game means nothing. And playing at the beginning of the season makes it even worse
2016 was the only year it really may have meant something for one of the schools.

But bragging rights just feel the most intense in college football compared to any of the other sports to me at least.

It's sad, but Pitt has buried itself as a D1 football program the last 35 years, they are no more relevant than Temple or Rutgers. everyone expects the powerhouse/blue blood, Penn State to roll big, Pitt has no respect or expectations nationwide, sorry, it's true. I'll DVR the game, my daughter is playing in a D3 women's soccer game at 1:30, that game has way more BUZZ for me, I'll be there, LOL

My daughter has a cup soccer game at 10:00 and my son has high school games starting at noon (he plays both JV and varsity). As they have gotten more and more involved in sports, my interest in pro and college sports has definitely declined.

It just seems stupid to me that WVU and Pitt and Penn State are in three different conferences. But the schools don’t care they are awash in money from being in these mega conferences

I'll be working around the house while the game is on. I've been out-of-town all week and that's the only chance I have to get some work done.

There isn't much hype because except for maybe some child rape lovers in the cow pasture in central PA and wherever their alumni are, no one else really cares all that much about the game. Some Pitt fans care, but we all know it means very little to nothing now. My attitude is no matter the score, we win because we aren't them. That's something to be thankful for.

I’m watching the game with my 25 year old daughter who is also a Pitt grad. I taught her this game matters. She agrees and so do many of her friends.

The last decade or so, I rarely watch any Pitt NOON games live unless I attend, I live in Baltimore, NOBODY cares about the Pitt score in Baltimore, if I stay off social media, I can even walk around Baltimore all day wearing a Pitt jersey and nobody will mention the game or the score, so I eat dinner, turn on the game around 6-7 pm have a few beers and enjoy it. At noon, I hate games that early, kind of ruins the day, unless you go, even then it's not enjoyable at that time, you come of there thinking "what now?".... AND THANKS.
That’s me. I’m married so we do stuff later. I’m older and wins don’t get me as up and losses don’t drag me down .

Using child rape victims to soothe the pain of losing to your in state rival. How pitthetic.

I don't think there's much hype because few think the game will be competitive and Penn State fans pretend this game to playing Northeastern State and constantly remind us they don't need or want Pitt on the schedule even though it will be the second highest ticket prices and attended game of the year outside of Michigan.

And when Auburn visits Happy Valley, that ticket is expected to be the 2nd hottest, after UM/OSU. Doesn’t mean they care about Auburn.

Any decent P5 non con will be the 2nd or 3rd best ticket on the schedule, after UM or OSU.

If we do lose, I'm not losing to them. Pitt is losing to them. It doesn't do anything for me one way or another. If we win, I feel good for 5 minutes and move on. If we lose, it doesn't mean anything to me. It's a football game, nothing else.

I guess it depends on your maturity level. It's nice to watch it and root for your team. But to get that immersed in it that you place YOUR value as a person on how your team does on the field, is infantile.

Back to work for me. I have to do some remodeling.

Idk, this at least is the 100th meeting and there’s been talks about the history since it’s likely the last. I think last year was by far the least amount of hype. It was a nationally televised prime time game that was barely even mentioned locally let alone nationally.
