Wanted to call this out separately because of the panic over computers.

In 2012-13 Pitt was 11th overall in KenPom and got an 8 seed. This was Adams’ first and only season and was, of course, an indictment on Dixon more than anything else at that point.

In 2013-14, Pitt was 16th overall and got a 9 seed. This was Lamar Patterson playing on god mode with Talib Zanna fully ready. Again, mostly chalked up as gaming things and not magically conforming to being good for 5 games in March instead of 30+ games outside of it.

Just a reminder that (at least a chunk of us/) we were mad at the committee and pointing at computers for a long time and also the computers don’t matter a ton.

It was just less panicky and conspiracy laden when it was over seeding instead of being in or out (and also Dixon underperforming conveniently fit a different subset’s feelings so they didn’t protest).
