When 99% of the anti-Dixon thing is related to March, wouldn't you also join the uninitiated and just use their line of reasoning in this situation? The whole thing is "March March March March March March....", so even if it's largely irrelevant in reality it's been made relevant by the overall lack of perspective.

Oh I care about the tourney ( and it is a crapshoot based on match ups, seeds, etc ), don't have an agenda (love Jamie and our hometown Miller boys) but it is a big deal and worth conversation when two supposed head coaching "upgrades" get bounced out resoundingly in the 1st round to lower seeds.

Well just heard on ESPN from the talking heads that Sean Miller would be the leading candidate at Kentucky if Cal were to go to the pros. apparently that is the talk around the Kentucky program among the big time supporters

define cheating? We've straddled the line under Dixon/howland regime a few times.. Can tell you a story or two about a pitt person sitting out Chris Taft's apt right before commitment.. We don't need to get too dirty, sadly we do need Dixon to get into the slimy world of AAU basketball or better yet, hire someone that can for him..

I value both but do think more of the post season than most pitt fans. I honestly don't think Dixon has done that bad in the tournament.. Nova was a team that we were better than but besides that one, we got Butler at the wrong time, Ok state was better than us, we beat a real good Xavier team if I recall. That one year we lost to the mid major in first round but that pitt team sucked.. I am ok with our march success.. That UCLA team in sweet 16 was damn near great..

The Kent state game hurts me, not sure if that was howland or Dixon. Actually was at that game. Think it was still Howland at the time.. Honestly, I don't think Dixon had to many bad losses at all in the tourney..

no they haven't. It's cry baby apologist posts like this using straw man arguments that turn sensible, level headed fans into making anti Dixon posts.. I don't want Dixon fired, I think he is a good coach but he is far FAR from above criticism.. But you make posts about how unfair everyone is towards him, bring up some game in '09 as justification and it makes me want to say something bad about the guy...

Jamie has never beat a higher seed!!! Well guess what, most years pitt were a top 5 seed..there weren't many chances.

Jamie not playing a good non con schedule makes us lose in March!!! Never mind in between he had the best conference win percentage ever, but yet games in November were more important .

He doesn't recruit good enough players!!! Yet they were good enough to win all the time in the big east.

Add to it the calls for his head after every tournament loss, it simply got old.

Right now, he needs to fix things, but don't you dare act like the criticism of dixon is a new thing and the same people that constantly blast dixon now were happy and didn't boast him 5 years ago.

all coaches get criticism, every single one.. Every fan base in every part of the world has a small percentage of apologists, a small percentage of bashers and the majority as rational fans.. No matter what a coach does, there will always be a few. Tomlin won a superbowl and some fans criticized him saying only reason he did it cause they were cowher's players.. Same thing with disco dan with the pens.. You act like it's anything different with Dixon.. He's the 3rd highest paid coach in the acc, if anything, he is over valued than under valued..

I don't know what board you've been following but I think March has been way down the list of what people have been complaining about Dixon for a long while now.
