Last year we were 6-6 and our coach was leaving. We deserved whatever shit bowl we got.

This year, we finished 2nd in the coastal and earned our way into a tier 1 bowl.

The reality of it is that we would be in this exact same bowl if we were 6-6 right now.

Our 8-4/6-2 record didn't get us anything better than a 6-6/4-4 record would have.
