the officials robbed ohio state

This is the battle cry of the whiny ass loser, every....single......time.

OSU was a huge favorite. They played like $hit, flat, no sense of urgency, and paid the price. F them. That sucked and will hurt our recruiting without a doubt.

If our recruiting is dependent on what PSU does, we are already screwed. We should recruit well regardless.

yes, i'm big whiny ass loser. good burn. but i can still count to one and be objective. 1 penalty for 5 yards. some of the non calls in that game were absurd

raw

Also Slick, Tonight's PSU win actually should actually raise the perception of our program, since we own a win against the Nits.

Im removed enough from the rivalry to see that and I totally understand that it may not matter much to Pitt fans living in PA.

Clemson would kill Ohio state....#2..???? Nope

Clemson barely beat NC State, and they never have to play in an environment like PSU. To suggest they'd kill OSU based on this result is optimistic at best. There's no way to know how they would fare playing a night game in Happy Valley.

Didn't watch much of the Ohio State game tonight, but I did get to see the last 4 minutes or so of the game. I don't know which official it was, but during Ohio State's final drive, he appeared to be the side judge behind the Buckeyes offense (he was on the bottom left of the tv screen as the Buckeyes moved from the left to the right).
The guy made three terrible calls in a row, in regards to the placement of the ball on plays that the Ohio State player went out of bounds on. He was behind the player who was carrying the ball and spotted it incorrectly three consecutive times. The calls certainly affected Ohio State's play calling because it prevented them from getting a first down twice.
Not saying that penn state won the game because of it, but the guy certainly had an effect on the Buckeyes play calling on that drive.
It was bad enough that three other people in the room noticed it as well.

Disagree with due respect, sure there were 2 questionable calls I concede it but they did not win for for PSU, OSU lost it.

OSU Players were not prepared all game long, they took Penn State lightly while Penn State had two weeks to prepare for them.

OSU QB Barnett was off all game long and made poor Decisions, but Penn State Defense took it to them after Half-Time and the OSU OL was badly beaten that cost them the Game by great PSU Players play.

There are always 1 to 3 Ref Calls in every game that can go either way. Still, there are another 4 to 6 Plays per game that decide most CFB Games too. PSU Players made ore of them 4 to 6 Plays and OSU did not, it was a well earned Win by Penn State over Ohio State!

The way I see it, it was the Special Teams Blocked Kicks that won the game, Big Pass from McSorley To Godwin before the half, and Great Defense at the end of the Game!

The Face on Urban Meyer's as the Game was slipping away after a lead was frightening and you could see, he was not upset with Refs but his Player's play.

Others can agree to disagree with me, but Penn State earned that win.

there were plenty of missed holding calls on both teams. that's how they call it in the big ten

but am i the only one who noticed the ridiculously late hit out of bounds by #2, with targeting because he lowered the crown in the 1st quarter?
or the equally late hit by #54 when he jumped on jt barrett after he escaped the pocket?
or when the officiating consultant for abc said the horse collar penalty was incorrect?
or when the pylon cam showed mcsorley's knee was clearly down before the ball crossed the goal line?
or the blatant pass interference on the final drive?
that's just the stuff off the top of my head

osu was flagged 8 times. ped state once.

osu playing an road game vs a top 10 team that went to ot hurt them. psu off a bye was a huge help. the weather was the biggest factor in the game by a mile. but to think these bad calls didn't tip the scales in a razor thin game? i must be blind

missed PI was big, but 15 yards was still not FG range. Meyer put the game in a QB who is his "warrior" and he can't pass with any consistency. Eventually the talented bucknuts would be seen as over rated as a NC contender. The field conditions were bad for them as the OL simply had zero push. Maybe shoes, cleats were simply not effective for that rain soaked field. Wet muddy field is the great equalizer and tonight it was.

PSU played smarter, were tougher, were mentally into it and that translates into winning when stats go the other way.
OSU dropped a snap on an extra point, had their punter run into a PSU player being well blocked, rushed a field goal attempt that was both blocked and returned for a TD.
THE play of the game was PSUs punter recovering the muffed snap and saving 5 points.
That play epitomized the game.
PSU outhustled OSU.

So my son was on twitter last night with a friend (Penn St fan). His friend says the pass interference was not obvious. I just shook my head in disgust and disbelief. How can these officials miss blatant calls like that?

Yes. They appear very over rated. Even at that if the ref calls the Nit defender for holding the receiver's arm the Buck's probably pull it out.

Hell, Herbstreit said it wasn't obvious. WTF. It was very obvious.

I watched the game and I saw exactly the same things that you mentioned. Seems to be a recurring problem in big home games @ PSU. hmmmmm

PSU pressure on QB is what kept them in this game. Several Jon call PIs but if Ohio State is looking for blame they should start with the pass protection.

Can't ever root for Penn State, but I'll take it. I said it after witnessing the game in September, that was a pretty damn good PSU team we beat.

Your obsession with the word pedophile and ped suggests an underlying problem..Perhaps you should seek help.

On the pass interference, you can bet there would have been six flags thrown if that was a Pitt DB pulling on a WRs arm before the ball got there. Hell, we get flagged for lots less than that...

Congrats to PSU on the win, but really, OSU has to be embarrassed by how poorly they played. Prediction: McSorley will not be PSU's starting QB next season.

And does Urban ever look at what's happening on the field or does he just walk up and down the sideline looking at the ground and trying to look like some kind of master-mind?

Go Pitt.

As things began to go south Meyer was thinking of chapter 9 in the SuperStar Coaches Handbook.
Chapter Title - When All Goes Wrong Quickly Decide Who to Throw Under the Bus
Options are officials, coaches, players, trainers. U administration, your mother & father, your kids, ex wives, and of course your mother in law.
If you need two buses get another one.

Sour grapes. Neither team played well. Conditions were pretty awful. PSU made a couple huge special teams plays and won.

The non call on the PI was bad and if Barrett could have hit the broad side of a barn all night OSU might have gotten the call. Still that was only a potential 15 yard penalty and the OSU passing game was horrible. TIp of the hat to PSU. They made some big plays late to steal the game

Yeah you pegged Urban. He does't know what he's doing on gameday. That's why he's lost 5 games in 5 years at OSU, and he's 160-28 in 15 years as a HC.

Coaches like Urban and Saban see EVERYTHING that;s happening on the field, every small missed assignment, every move every player makes.

They had a bad game, played like $hit in a very tough road environment against a highly motivated, emotionally charged-up P5 opponent and paid the price. They were a 20 point favorite in that game. Frankly they have been overachieving all year with a bunch of young players all through their lineup, which is a testament to Urban's coaching in and of itself.

PSU appears to have come a long way since we beat them. Frankly I don't think the game would have gone the same way if it was played next week. Not saying they beat us, but I sincerely doubt we go out run all over them like we did in the first half of that game.

Clemson also beat Auburn and L'Ville. All 3 teams would shred PSU. The BIG is a bloated overrated conference this year.

Show me one quote of Urban's where he deflected blame for the loss.

Until then, Buff, stick to your margaritas and bad aloha shirts.

I mean, why even say this kind of stupid $hit when there is no truth to it whatsoever?

Like every year, the B1G has been the benefactor of preseason hype pushing teams up the polls. At this point I'm not sure anyone knows how good the teams at top at but we know middle and bottom are really bad.

My guess is only Michigan is a legit top 10 team. UW, tO$U, Nebraska, etc are very flawed teams with questionable rankings.
