After this extremely frustrating football season that we lived through, most fans like me were looking forward to the Hoops season. But then we hire a new coach with all the makings of a winner and seemingly will exorcise the demons that have crippled this program for about 3 decades! But on the basketball side, the season starts with some early close wins against far inferior competition, and it was an early indication of things to come! Little did we know that an injury and a suspension cost this team the way it did...but hold on, there were plenty of other issues to point to being reasons why this team has not only had a relatively strange and mediocre season but has trended down for at least 5 seasons now! Some will argue that they made the tourney, ok yes but they beat no one. It was basically beat the scrub and lose to the next decent team we face! Like it or not that's been the theme for a lot longer than most care to acknowledge. So again I ask, is the curse over because we have a more than capable football coach or did our misfortunes just switch to the basketball side?
