From the beginning of college football until a decade ago, there have been thousands of games played in thunderstorms.

Without a single recorded case of a fan being hit by lightning during a game.

This is litigious America gone crazy.

Play the freaking game.

You just made a post about poker making dumb threads, and then you top him with one of the dumbest I've seen. No football team has ever played in a lightning storm.

The Pittsburgh Stillers game against the College All Stars was delayed and then canceled by rain and lightning nearly 40 years ago.

They used to run practices in 95 degree weather for 3 hours and deny the players water to toughen them up. Should that still be allowed?

It's called progress tough guy. Get a clue.

Didn't the 1980 Pitt team lose to FSU in a thunderstorm in Tallahassee?

Yes I think you're right. I was 5 years old at the time, and playing with my speak n spell when a huge gust of wind came through the tv and damaged it. Needless to say Pitt lost.

I completely agree that litigation (or the threat of it) and risk management is at the center of so much of much makes people crazy.

Concussion protocol...more like pusscussion protocol. Am I right? Mercy rule for elementary and high school teams? In my day they slowed the clock down if the opponents lead got higher than 35 and the winning team got to sleep with the losing team's girlfriends. Gotta teach them kids humiliation at a young age.

And those wimps that don't let me smoke on a plane anymore. Christ, my doctor recommended them to me in 1957, who do these stewardesses think they are?

I even heard that hills now-a-days have a downward slope when going to opposite direction. These little pansies don't even have to walk uphill both ways anymore. Now where did I put my memberberries?
