The Steelers are 24th in attendance in the NFL.
That makes them irrelevant.
They don't play big time football.

They average around 64,000 a game. Steelers fans just don't support the team. How can they expect to compete for championships?

That's still what, at least 15,000 better than what Pitt gets for games?

Wrong argument.

So, we're saying that 15,000 additional asses in seats is the difference between being considered one of the premiere professional football teams known for a rabid fanbase and a college football program that is hamstrung by poor support?

Do you fail to see that attendance is a red herring argument?

If Pitt drew a legit 64,000 fans to each and every game, this board would have a collective orgasm.

Personally, I used to care about this issue, but no longer do.
I'm assuming Pitt still views drawing 70,000 for each game as an obtainable goal, but I doubt I'll ever see that in my lifetime.

Winning games, which the Steelers have done quite well for 45 years, nullifies the issue. But when Pitt loses....again in dubious fashion....we end up getting this accursed debate again.

Bingo.

Win games.

Attendance is relevant because Pitt's opponents made it relevant.

The Nits created and promoted the attendance issue because -- given their under-achieving and irrelevance -- it was all they had to promote. And it serves as a convenient distraction and deflection from their embarrassing and disgusting issues.

You have officially gone off the deep end.

The Steelers have more supporters than the Cowboys or Packers.

If there is an America's team it would be the Steelers. Good comp.
