These were the words of one of the board's most respected and level headed posters after the loss to Clemson. I was surprised at the mood on both boards after that loss. Another respected and beloved poster UPitt89 declared he was stopping his much anticipated bubble watch posts because of the loss.
Here's the thing. Bubble teams lose. That's why they're bubble teams. For every loss we have, 9 or 10 of the 20 or so other bubble teams will lose. It's impossible to predict how many wins or losses you need to get in.
It would be really good to win both games this week, but if we don't, the season's not over. Win one and impress with a good win or 2 in the tournament and we could easily sneak in depending on what other bubble teams do. Heck, someone like Notre Dame could win the ACC tourney and steal our spot regardless of what we do.
I guess what I'm saying is, enjoy this very enjoyable season of Pitt basketball. And in the words of the great Jim Valvano, " Don't give up, don't ever give up".
