When will they start coaching QB's to dive instead of sliding? Sliding is much more dangerous as you leave your head up and exposed. And in college football, diving gets you 2 extra yards. This also cost Eli Holstein a few games.
You can still take a kill shot on a QB if they dive. Swift and vicious retaliation is the solution here. First Houston offensive play should have been a 10 player blitz with Stroud being annihilated regardless of where the ball was. Trading your QB to injury for an ejected defender is not fair nor equitable. It's like a rook for a knight. Have to trade back a defender to ejection for their QB.When will they start coaching QB's to dive instead of sliding? Sliding is much more dangerous as you leave your head up and exposed. Brought this up after the Eli hit. He was probably advised to slide and avoid hits. It’s wrong and weak. When will they start coaching QB's to dive instead of sliding? Because that works so well in hockey and baseballYou can still take a kill shot on a QB if they dive. Swift and vicious retaliation is the solution here. Just accepting it makes it happen again. Violence is the answer here.
It actually does. Well it worked in baseball back in the Bob Gibson days.Because that works so well in hockey and baseball
Great documentary called Ice Gaurdians that explains the role of enforcers. It shows that they kept the game safer as there were less cheap shots in hockey. Concussions have gone up dramatically b/c guys take runs at top players. Well worth the watch. It actually does. Well it worked in baseball back in the Bob Gibson days.
Still works in beer league hockey. Guy I have known for years lost his edge and ended up in my net. He didn't hit me or interfere in any way. I was going to give him a pass. He looked up to me from a vulnerable position and begged for mercy. I allowed him to live. People are scared to death to come into my crease. That level of fear/respect comes from the threat of violence.
After the game I always go to the opposition locker room and have beers with them. Only one time was there a problem when a guy had run me and I blocker punched him. He had another go and didn't fare well. Nobody f's around anymore.
Jacksonville needs someone like me on their roster. Keeps it safe for everyone.

I mean, there are a lot of reasons why concussions have gone up that aren't linked to enforcers.Great documentary called Ice Gaurdians that explains the role of enforcers. Been saying this for years. The slide needs to go.
Coach your QB to get your head to the ground as soon as possible when you dive. Memphis and other college teams coach this.
Sliding cost us the WF game last year and got Eli knocked out this year. Probably cost us the UVA and Clemson game.
Then I see Justin Fields slide a yard short against the Ravens. Still worked out for the Steelers.
Sliding is not a magical halo that protects you from defenders. Body mechanics your head goes straight back against the ground. Defense will trade 15 yards for a DQd QB.
Watch flag footballWhen the QB starts his slide, don't hit him. That's the rule. Break it and face the consequences. The Jags should have ripped that dudes helmet off and beat him with it.
Does the world really need more quadriplegics? When will they start coaching QB's to dive instead of sliding? Sliding is much more dangerous as you leave your head up and exposed. And in college football, diving gets you 2 extra yards. This also cost Eli Holstein a few games.

You never want to surrender yourself head first in an NFL football game, or any tackle football game. You’ll go from concussions to catastrophic spinal injuries.
