The Twins

Should not get minutes against P5 opponents at all this year. They’re not physically mature enough.
They move sideways too much as well. Need to try less moves and be quicker and more decisive.

When they do get to play, they are big enough to get shots off over people, inside and out. Ditch the dribbles and moves, just shoot.

I wouldn't be opposed to 31 getting some minutes. He can stroke it. As soon as 25 was in there I took one look at the girth of some of the WVU bigs and knew that wouldn't go well.

WV is always going to have a physical team. On top of that, a lot of their guys are upperclassman transfers so that’s just a tough matchup for any freshman let alone ones who are obviously not physically ready for high major opponents.

Instead of adding guys like Amadasun who brought nothing, I wish they’d leave a scholarship or two open and get guys like that to potentially reclass a semester early. They obviously have some skills but they’re going to need a year (at least) in a strength and conditioning program before they start to look the part

There aren’t many Adams or Blairs out there that can come in as freshman and physically handle older, stronger more experienced players . It’s also highly unlikely that a program like Pitt would be able attract them to come here . These kids have size and skills and hopefully everyone has the patience to realize they need time to mature physically before they become a factor .

Hugely did too

They will have a role. GD-G more than Jorge at this point. Very premature to come to any conclusions in their first real college game.

WVU has 3 bigs on their team that were able to put the ball on the floor and score in different ways. 2 of them are 5th year seniors with loads of experience and were double digit scorers previously in college, the 3rd is Wague from junior college who was a 1st team all american in jc, who led all of jc in rebounds and looks to have some serious potential at the power 6 level. He is shooting 90% for the season and tore us up on the inside. After watching some of this on rewind, WV's frontcourt is going to tear up a lot of teams this year. I can see why Fede didn't make it there now with what they have in the frontcourt.

Nothing should be taken away in this game with regards to the twins after the grown men they just went up against. This WV team has much better season potential if Wague is as good as he looks which no one really anticipated since he is came from junior college. This guy is averaging 10 points and 7 rebounds per game on 16 minutes of action for the season. He has easily eaten up 2 frontcourts in a row at D1.

I'm sure he's a colossal liability on defense, but I would work Jorge in more and just try to hide him in a zone or something (not sure if we can rebound good enough for that, but hey) . You can just tell when a guy can stroke it, and he absolutely can.

Santos has put on some good weight, but the dude misses shots by a lot all too often. I don't know if it's nerves or what, but there are times when his shots aren't even close. I wouldn't mind Jorge getting some of those shots, as a dude that tall is almost always open at the perimeter.

I'm sure the other one is further along, but just by virtue of him playing the 5 I don't know what he can go against P5 competition being that lanky. Maybe his role can change a bit once Hugley comes back.

Where is all this talent we have that we can hide any player. Put the twins in and let them learn.

With the foul trouble we tried a zone for a few possessions in the second half last night. It was not pretty at all. We were playing a 3-2 to try to guard out to the three point line, and all that did was leave a huge hole right in the middle of the defense. Which WVU was only too happy to exploit.

No, they should play, they aren't horrible, they can get a few minutes per game, do you want them to leave before they develop? Nowadays people leave instantly if they don't play. Remember how bad Gray and McGhee where at first?

They are 4 year players

FR: below average
SO: average (hopefully)
JR: average
ST: above average
Yep, these are players who barely would have seen the floor as Frosh in the JD era. But hopefully they will be good as upper classmen. We need to get back to having some continuity -- i.e., a real program.

That zone was sooooooo
bad. Wide open middle
is a staple of Capel's
zones, as we've seen way
too often.

Probably would have redshirted. Remind me a little of Levon Kendall. They are long-term projects

Agree w first paragraph.
HCJC has tried the reclass route and it has mostly blown up on him. Trey and Audese were talented and had some good moments on the court, but were too immature for a team w no established leaders in the locker room, Jeffries wasn't ready physically.
