The WAC is back!

Albeit in an FCS version. They raided the Southland and added Southern Utah from the Big Sky as well as some D2 schools. If you don't feel nostalgic thinking about those late night Marshall Faulk/Dan McGwire SDSU and BYU/Utah games, are you really an American?

Abilene Christian
Dixie State
Lamar
Sam Houston State
Southern Utah
Stephen F. Austin
Tarleton State
Texas-Rio Grand Valley (starting a program as soon as 2023)

New Mexico State will continue to play as an FBS independent although there is talk this entire league may move up to the FBS level eventually. Seattle, Utah Valley, California Baptist, and Grand Canyon remain as non-football members. Chicago State is dropping out and probably should drop to D3

There's some weird rumor out there that the WAC maintains an FBS charter- that's how they'd manage to move up together. If that were true, you'd expect the entire conference to start transitioning up right away, but we'll see.
