It was a tough loss but there is ALWAYS joy for me when the nits and Irish lose.

Franklin is a phoney bullsh!tter who has no idea what he is doing up there (going for a fg down 28) while no one in the country does less with more than Notre Dame. Plus Kelly is an idiot.

I have to admit I laughed when I read Franklin took a timeout at 28-0 to then make the choice of FG to make it 28-3.... Wonder if the Wolverines clapped?

The worst thing about this loss is that this was potentially a big year for Pitt. If Hamlin was playing at one corner it could be making a huge difference, also the loss of George Hill on the offensive side are big losses. These guys could of helped get us to 4-0 and elevate the program to top 20 level and possibly get some of these recruits that are interested in Pitt to pull the triggger.

We have let an opportunity get away. We still have a shot at our division but not with the present lineup we are trotting out there. I can support saving redshirts for the freshman now that a great season is gone. We still have a shot at a good season tho, but we must either change the defensive scheme or change the personnel. These are tough decisions for the staff, but if he decides to blow some redshirts, then we have to win.

This year was really important for Duzz to stack another good recuiting class back to back, but that is looking less and less likely. He is in a really tough position and he knows we can't affford to lose games like NC. You can't get quality recruits here if were not winning. Without quality recruits, you can't win!

I do understand that it is only year 2, but Duzz had a really good year one, both on the field and recruiting. He had a chance to catapult us forward this year. If he doesn't get it going, as Pitt has done for the last 30 some years, it will continue to be one step forward and two steps backward.

Again, horribly tough loss to swallow. Not just due to the D but because, again, the offense couldn't salt the game away.

That said, even though I have great faith in Narduzzi, last year's results were a bit inflated. Do folks recall how many 2nd string QBs Pitt got face last season?

If I recall correctly, Akron, VT, Duke and Louisville all had their 2nd string QB in. GT was riddled with injuries. And, Syracuse's QB was humming along until he took a hit v. Pitt and continued to play though injury. As good of a year as Narduzzi had last season, Pitt got just about every break save Iowa making that long, long kick as time expired.

He also went for a 1st down on a 4th and like 4 to go in the first qtr when the Nits when somewhere near the Wolverine 40.
Set up Wolverrines for a score and a 1st Q momentum builder.
Perfect example of a terrible college football coach.
Maybe the Steelers will hire him?
