I don't know, a lot of times, all season I felt our CBs have been in decent position but just couldn't get that PBU. Some of these WRs and the catches they have made have been remarkable.

Let me say this. If the WRs we played this year were at the ability level of say, Weah and Tipton, we are undefeated. So, you have to give credit to these guys.

But, here's the problem. This is the ACC. No, its not the B12 in terms of passing but at least 6 of 8 teams on our ACC schedule every year run the spread, which puts a pretty big emphasis on having good WRs. So unless you have truly elite CBs, you are going to lose a lot of those 1 on 1's. The WR's are too good and PI is so easy to get called.

I mostly agree but having really bad corners can make some of those WR's look really good. When our DB's never turn and look for the ball its hard to break up anything I give a lot of credit for VT finally figuring out the only way they win is just throw on us every down and when you throw jump balls to an area where only the WR's see the ball you're going to get a lot of completions or PI calls.

Make no mistake about it; Hodges and Ford are going to play in the NFL. Both are larger receivers (Hodges will be a TE in the NFL) who pose a match-up problem for opposing CBs and Ss, who are generally less than 6 feet tall. Honestly, I though the secondary, outside of Webb, played are pretty solid game. Jackson played the ball really well a couple of times against Hodges, Motley was unlucky against Ford when the ball bounced around a bit.

Webb is consistently getting smoked on big plays whenever he's inserted. He also failed to make an easy INT on a ball that was thrown right to him last night which would have prevented the TD.

Wow a good post. I say give credit where credit is due. Do we have issues at CB? Absolutely, but come on we've had some seriously good receivers play seriously good games
