all across the country,, in every discussion of the game. You brought a knife to a gunfight the last 2 weeks. The ACC Coastal is even being discussed as the poster child for doing away with conference championship games between division champs in favor of championship games between the two top overall teams in the league-although, as one guy said, who’s the second best team in the ACC?

that’s not good. There’s is a wide range of acceptable outcomes for this season, but being a national laughingstock is not within it.

I didn’t realize Pitt was the only other team in the ACC. It is Clemson and then the other 13 teams. Not sure why Pitt is the only team being singled out by you.

Oh don’t get me wrong, outside of Clemson the whole ACC was a joke this year. With FSU amd Miami down it will be a joke every year.

Well, Pitt was the other team playing last night.....

Frankly, given the context of the situation, this is a good thing. Pretty sure most of us agree that the current offensive situation was not likely going to lead to continued success. Something that everybody sees and talks about is far more likely to facilitate change

You’re over reacting a little. Did you watch last year’s ACC Championship Game? Clemson smoked Miami like a cheap cigar, and Miami had a lot of talent as well.

Yes, the last two games was not a good look but no team in the ACC was going to beat those guys last night.

Look, Pitt is getting better. This is a good season for them with a tough out of conference schedule. Thought the D played well last night but they were on the field so much. Did you see the time of possession???? Pitt has to figure out how to put their QB in better passing situations. Kenny can be good but throwing either flat routes or deep passes isn’t going to improve your passing game. Watson has to do a better job at this and it’s surprising that a lowly poster like myself knows this and the coaches don’t.

All in all I would like to see Pitt win a bowl game and end the year on a positive note. Duzz has my support 100%.

People should be laughing at the game plane and execution on offense.

They averaged over four yards per carry and were able to run the call some. But the play calling and lack of passing game is on Watson. I’ll be shocked if Duzz keeps Watson. It really was that bad.

Plus the incredible miscues. He didn't have that offense prepared.

Talking about 8 passing yards while ignoring the other important data point which was ... Pitt didn’t even try to pass (very much) is obtuse...

Miami tried to pass against Pitt and because of drops had similar yardage for a good part of our game

Taking single data points in isolation shows the people “laughing “ aren’t all that bright.

This isn't some shock to anyone who has followed Pitt. They haven't passed the ball all season. From the PSU game, also on national TV, to last night. Which again makes the play calling at the end of the first half even more outrageous. That is what I am upset about. The passing attack is what it is. Pitt still had a chance until that sequence at the end of the first half.

I feel like 8 passing yards should be laughed at.

I for one was fooled by the Wake game. They actually were less predictable and KP was pretty good in the second half. Clearly that was an aberration as wakes pass d was awful

You guys don’t really get it. Losing 42-10 by and of itself and it wouldn’t be talked about much, we were expected to get beat up by just about anyone who cared to think about it.

But it’s the manner in which we did it is why we’re talked about as a laughingstock. To borrow a phrase from one of our local hacks in his article this morning, ‘8 yards passing, I can’t make that up’. It’s not uncommon for a great team to shutdown an inferior opponent’s rushing game but common, 8 yds passing doesn’t happen very much. And when you’re getting beat by 20++ pts in the 2nd half and you’re not even trying to pass, what can you say. That’s what makes me mad about Narduzzi’s response to the question about the end of the 1st half fiasco - we weren’t playing to lose close. What’s his explanation for the 2nd half then.

Pitt had 16 attempts 16..... that’s it 16 that’s why they have 8 yds....

No one will be discussing 8 yds by this evening either

That is a half yard per attempt

It is worth discussing, because it’s a symptom. The team has had zero passing for two seasons now. And the running game isn’t creative enough to compensate

Doesnt matter if you, me, Tony D, or the lamppost care what happened last night, or what is being said. The only thing that matters, do Gallagher and the trustees care? Did they even know the game was being played? Odds are they were at the chick volleyball game.

By that mentally retarded logic- Pitt is one of 10 teams who played in their P5 conferences championship this year. If that makes them a laughingstock- what does that make the other 54 teams?

Just as we should have been laughed at when Stallings was our basketball coach, we should be laughed at for what has happened to this football program and what we did last night. Our coaching is horrible from the top down and we have no talent and a head coach who hates recruiting. We've earned our reputation as the laughing stock of college football. Fortunately, Jeff Capel is trying to turn that around on the hoops end and doing pretty well.

Use that analogy for all Clemsons 27+ point wins this season.

The problem with Clemson is realistically they only played 2 teams people would consider good, Texas A&M and Syracuse.

They survived A&M on a missed 2 point conversion at the end and came back to beat Syracuse by 4.

I think Clemson is really good, but I’m not positive. They have far and away the weakest resume of any of the contenders. At least Notre Dame has a win over Michigan.

I agree wholeheartedly. I only wish that John Turman could have been our QB last night.

But OSU obliterated Michigan while Notre Dame survived. Really Notre Dame should be excluded just like UCF was. But of course that would never happen.

Nobody can use the "eyeball" test and claim Notre Dame is one of the four best teams in FBS

When you lose 42-10, there are going to be bad stat lines. 8-yards is nuts but we've seen this dog before. We are just a below avg program that had this misfortune of falling into a big game atmosphere against a far better team (ala Fiesta 05').

The coastal had a winning record vs the atlantic since Pitt and Cuse joined up before the year started.

Games like last night define Pitt football. Last night destroyed any positive regard that anyone outside of a few hundred diehards have for the program. There have been positives this season but they are burried beneath an avalanche of laughter and ridicule right now and beating NE Michigan A&M in the Dr. Detroit Bowl isn't going to move that dial.

I'm not saying any of this is correct or fair. This is merely perception.

Notre Dame is the victim of trying to schedule tough and somehow nearly all the those teams having very down years. At least they do have the win over Michigan. Maybe they aren’t great wins but the victories over Stanford, Northwestern, and Syracuse dwarf anything UCF did. They won all those games convincingly as well.

I don’t think ND is one of the best 4 teams either, while Georgia definitely is. The Irish deserve to be in though.

The other teams didn’t have 8 total passing yards on national tv last night. Check social media or Espn, he is not lying.

Yeah because social media is a bastion of intelligent thought and reasoning.

Michigan beat who?

Everybody but ND and Ohio St.

2 weeks ago everyone on the planet had them in the playoff. It’s a quality win, though somewhat lessened by coming on opening day. So much changes during the course of the year.

You have to admit that Clemson beat absolutely nobody this year. Not their fault obviously that the rest of the ACC was so bad.

We don't know how tough the SEC is to make the determination that Georgia is one of the top 4. Media has made Bama out to be invincible, and just because Georgia played them tough then somehow UGA is this great team now.

UGA's OOC schedule included Georgia Tech, UMASS, Austin Peay, and Middle Tennessee State. All we know about UGA is that they were good at beating up other SEC schools. Except LSU. And Alabama. With 2 losses no way in hell should they be in the playoff.

As for Notre Dame if they played UCF 10 times UCF would win at least 6 of those games.

Mrs Buffett and I disliked the PITT fake fan boo birds, the glass is half full crowd, who came out on this message board as soon as PITT made some early mistakes minutes in to the game.

The same crowd always comes out of their ratholes one after the other making their negative posts the minute things get off track.
They love misery and making others as miserable like they are.

We were very disappointin to see the PITT team come out Flat in a huge game on National TV.

Mrs Buffett and I were at our beach casino and sat down in the players club to watch the game.
Our luck we sat next to a very nice couple who we got to know and find out he was a Penn St running back and kick returner in the 80's. They weren't PITT fans.

We talked about the game and said Clemson is a really good team but PITT has been improving each week so it should be a good game??

The game starts and it looks like a Clemson beat down from play # 1.

The PITT team was totally unprepared, and not ready for prime time football.

I hope things improve!

"it's five o'clock somewhere"

GO PITT & CSU Rams!

Notre Dame would be favored over UCF somewhere in the 8 to 10 point range. So I figure ND would probably win at least 7 or 8 out of 10.

There is absolutely zero chance UCF would be favored in that game. None.
