1.) star power- pitt has always had an excellent player on the field at all times ( JC, Donald, Boyd, KP, Addison, Kancey,etc.) there is no star power at all this year and there doesn’t seem to be anyone in the hopper at the moment. Any freshman/soph so good that they have to play? Lovelace looks like the best bet on that and that says something.
2.) DL is very underwhelming. We have 4 6th year DT’s who are very mid, DE’s are a shadow of the past. It looks like next year will be much worse. Partridge is great, he needs to recruit transfers though. The game is adopting, you need plug and play guys. The 2021 WPIAL dline class looks like the biggest bust in history.
3.) El Barto is a baller. He needs 10 targets a game. It makes me sick to my stomach seeing him catch only 3 passes a game at most. This is malpractice
4.) Collier needs to move on with his life’s work, keep him on FG protect team but not a snap more.
5.) young guys need reps. Baer needs to play, slide Gonsalves to RG.
6.) I understand why Duzz played Slovis last year all year. Progress at end and wanted him back next year. Knew Patti was out and didn’t have upside. PJ is done this year and CV is supposed to be the guy for 2 more years. We have to find out now if that’s the case. It can’t be worse
