This is 1 game

no Weaver and Camp probably cost them a win.

Also, on another thread it was mentioned that strain on depth and the fatigue factor was evident in the 2nd half among the dl, I seemed to recall the instances where the DL looked tired, which made the point seem very valid to me.

where no Weaver and Camp probably cost them a win. The dline wasn't as effective getting pressure in the 2nd half. A couple of more high end players probably make a difference in this game.

So Weaver and Camp were going to be able contribute to scoring more than 10 points?

I mean I guess maybe we could win 10-3 but seems odd to be pining for those 2 when scoring points was a major issue. The D played well enough to win. And while Pitt moved the ball that wasn’t near enough.

Well...10-0, 12-0, and 14-7 were the scores of 3 wins over them.

Indeed. And had they won by any of those scores or even 3-0 I’d be happy. Who knows how those 2 change the game but scoring 10 points is no good. And after 3 games it’s enough of a sample size for concern. Could they progress/improve? Sure. But it’s a problem.

Ups Def. Also played well enough to win so perhaps the score could have been 10-3. The fact remains PItt lost to the better team today with the manpower available, time to move on.

I think the psu drive in the 3rd was definitely a case of the dl just being gassed and they didn't have any backups who were capable of playing at a high level. The coaches saw it to and rotated the dt when the drive was at the Pitt 30. They came back in after 2 plays because psu was having their way with the backups. Not sure it translates to a win because those guys aren't scoring points but maybe it does

Agreed. Those two may have prevented a score on that possession or tackled their RB on 3rd and Long when they were backed up early in the game. I think not having a good RB is huge as well. A big time RB might have scored on the screen to Davis earlier in the game, and picking up 1-2 yards would be a lot easier.

By no means am I suggesting those 2 wouldn’t help. They’re big losses to be sure.

It’s a matter of opinion I suppose but if I were to wish for something it would be more points before having those 2 back. Doesn’t mean I’m right and there’s no way to prove either side of it anyway.

I noticed that too. AJ Davis....what does he do well? Not much wiggle, not a power runner....and he really looked slow on that run. He looks to me like a replacement level RB.
