Pitt has played 2 poor defenses who were well known for not being able to stop the run.
We are one of the most one dimensional teams in the country.
Crazy how our run game can be that good and pass game awful!
Someone mentioned it earlier, but this is the worst pass game we have had in the last 15-20 years.
We will struggle against a team that has a good run defense.
Not quite sure which is worse though. Our inability to pass, or our inability to cover the pass. Both are the worse I've seen in 15 years maybe longer.
Just like the nitters and yesterday, I think teams are underestimating our ability to run the ball. We gash them all first half then they adjust to stop the run even more then the rest is history.

To be fair there were a few PIs that were garbage calls ... Some at key times... Meanwhile I watched worse infractions Not flagged with our guys were mugged.... Not sure what to say or do about that
We will win games based on our run game alone. There's 5-6 teams that just won't be able to stop it.
PSU is one of the best teams Pitt will play. Not a huge deal to lose there. Pitt will also likely lose to Clemson and Miami. Possibly UNC too. Still expecting 8 or 9 wins.
This game exposed big time Pitt's problems and it is obviously not just Peterman. With a bad secondary, surprisingly not as effective pass rush and an awful quarterback, the run game alone is not gonna win all these games. Especially when our opponents stack the line and force Peterman to beat them.
Before the season I had 9 wins as realistic. Now I have 7 and it even could be 6.
I'm still saying 8 wins. Ok.st, isn't great, but other than UNC, Clemson, and maybe Miami, they are way better talent wise
Exactly! Zero sustained drives in the 2nd half. Quadree had a long run for a TD and that was it.
Speaking for Myself, i have a reason to believe the defense will get better under Narduzzi ...because he has s proven track record .

I think we can get to 8-4, but 6-6 to 9-3 wouldn't shock me either
What aggravates me is consistently trying Connor up the middle on 1rst, 2nd, and sometimes 3rd down. When our office lights-it-up it is usually using misdirection and choosing among all the play options not just up the middle.
We said that during the game. 2nd and four at the 48. We make that first down and continue to run the clock and who knows. Ugh.
Pitt needed a mid 90s steelers-like pass rush to win this game. It didn't happen. It improved in the 3rd quarter, but it had to be sustained unrelenting pressure on the qb to bail out the dbs. It wasn't quite good enough.
