I would like all the chicken littles that moaned and panicked about Pitt's recruiting classes in October through December to remember this for next year.

The recruiting ranking for the team on the 1st Wednesday of December doesnt matter. The ranking on the 1st Wednesday of February does.

Two years in a row Pitt's ranking was in the 40s or 50s in December.... and two years in a row it will be in the 20s in February.

The Duzz is a closer. Better than we've had here in decades. If he gets the kids on campus for a visit, 80% of the time they'll commit to Pitt.

Don't doubt him next fall.

Wait. And. See.

After the quality of last year's class, I don't get the complaining either.

Sharp contrast to the way Coach Chryst would close out his classes - with guys who were definitely reaches with the hope that they would develop. Jester did; several others didn't. I guess Coach PC also got Tyler B. as a late commit.

Coach Duzz seems to know what he's doing - though he's a defensive guy, the offensive players coming in or considering us are impressive too. Pitt is going to steadily get better,,,

Go Pitt.

He isn't telling recruits to think about it and continue to look around if they want to as a former Pitt coach was wont to do.

All good posts. I will add that Duzz is successfully recruiting more higher caliber recruits with multiple P5 offers. These recruits can afford to wait and see how prospective college teams perform. Of course many highly recruited players decide early that Pitt is it as well. I think we'll continue to see a lot of late verbal commits in future years. When we get to consistent double digit winning seasons, we may get increased early verbals.

Probably in the mid to low 30's but adding Proctor and Garbutt will move them into the high 20's assuming Twyman is in the fold. In any event consistent 30ish class rankings is far superior than Pitt has had for awhile and more importantly, QB recruiting is much better. Browne, Mac V, Pickett, and potential Doyle next year are far superior talents. Nice stop gaps with Peterman and Browne will bridge the development of emerging QB's.

Exactly what I've been harping about regarding the talent on these first two teams narduzzi's coached. Chryst brought in a bunch of guys who very late did not have a home just to fill out classes. There is no way Pitt's defense will ever be this bad again when he starts to bring in some serious players.

Also, for those who are solely "star gazers" I suggest that the biggest improvement is not in the average star rating of these classes but in the quality of the 3-star recruits committing. Narduzzi seems to be landing more 3-stars who are typically better than the average 3-star that we used to land (as judged by their number of P5 offers vs MAC-level offers and subsequent performance on the field). We seem to be getting lots of 3-star recruits who are closer in talent to 4-star recruits than to being barely able to earn a 3-star rating (i.e., we might say we are landing 3s who are high 3s vs average to low 3s). At least that is the impression I have--it is probably just another way of observing that this staff scouts for talent and potential extremely well--recognizing that all 3-stars aren't at the same talent level and finding and landing more of the better ones than past staffs.

Well the "chicken littles" mentioned above are usually the same moronic posters who are "moaning and panicking" on here early in games about our performance, only to see a turnaround and have to eat those words. I can't even count the times these same posters would say that the Nits were stinking up the place, only to see them (time after time) turn it around in the second half and win. ...(pains me to say that LOL)
IMO....Let it play out and then judge the results.

Good Post and Agree.

I don't follow recruiting and i don't have to, because Chris Peak and some Posters know far more and when visits are happening and Chris does a superb, cerebral, calm, job with his broadcasts and his messages on Premium Board are even more informative all year long.

I just watch how Coaches conduct themselves, and Pitt Is It for Narduzzi. Pitt Players are just getting better every year, and that is what happen in 1973 to 1983. I can wait, watch, and fun to see it again.

Posters that Panic should take a long breath and start to change when they can't see what others can see, I enjoy being informed on what I don't know, and no shame in being corrected when one is wrong later.

I try to Post what I follow or read to get a share opinions from others. it is less and less on certain subjects every day and year. I am happy other Posters like you post what you know too to share it.

The Lair has solid Posters in the know and even the Posters that get worry later see and the one's that refuse that is on them!

Pitt Coach Pat & Staff are the real deal, and Recruits and Players see it!

Most importantly, every recruiting cycle where Narduzzi continues as the PITT head coach validates his obvious passion for and commitment to the program, while it destroys the "he's leaving" instability narrative that our competition has been selling. All trends are up at Pitt Football and as a class of '74 alumni I LOVE IT!!!!

Agreed but waiting to the last minute to make your class go from average to pretty good is a risky proposition.

Its like going down 14 at halftime but winning all the time. Eventually, you wont be able to pull it out so its better to be up 14 at halftime.

Right, but to borrow your analogy, throwing your hands up in the air and conceding defeat at halftime is also pretty foolish.
