This is the best I've felt about Pitt in a long time

It's a new era.
ACC money. New Chancellor, New Coach New AD coming.
The new staff has way more experience than what left.
What a bonus - Pitt got paid for Chryst leaving. Not sure what the buyout was on Peterson but he is gone too.
Timing was perfect.

Narduzzi is a good fit for Pittsburgh.
Media savy , great resume, brash and confident.
Haven't seen a guy like that in a while - maybe never at Pitt?

We've a decent offense coming back. Defense needs some work and he's the doctor.
If he can win 8 games next year I'd be ecstatic.
No more honeymoons - WIN NOW.
Last year was the some of the worse football I have ever seen.
Can only go up from there.

Satisfied with the class - not to concerned about losing a few kids - only natural when you change regimes.
Not sure how I feel about the "rivalry" with the Peds.
Part of me sezs bring back the good ole days - part of me sezs they represent the seamiest side of college ball and shouldn't be associated with. Pitt better not consider apologizing when we give it to the Peds on there visit here. The Peds should be apologizing to the world.
Paturdo is gone and completely disgraced. Ped State is forever stained with the worse reputation possible.
I guess it's a new era for them as well. Time to move on.

See you all at the LOI Day tonite.
I'm going to renew my tickets and buy 4 more.

Hail to Pitt and the new Era!

Watch out. You're about to slammed for being a hopelessly optimistic fool. But I agree with everything you said.

I believe if Narduzzi was here one year ago,we would have 3 more wins.

That alone is something to be excited about. I think what he does with similar talent that carries over, additions of instant impact guys and some redshirts from last year nobody is talking about, we have a descent team next year.

This team will not walk out of the tunnel flat and we will have a pulse on defense.

there is NO penn state rivalry. It is DEAD and will be DEAD for the foreseeable future!

Pitt's focus should/will be on winning ACC titles; PSU's focus will be on winning Big Ten titles. If they were in the same conference things would be different but they aren't.

Pitt should be comparing their recruits for this year/coming years to the recruits of their ACC rivals. What Penn State does is as relevant to Pitt as what South Dakota State does.

All the recent chatter tells you different. Make no mistake, it's on like donkey kong for 2016.

the question is what is more important? Beating PSU or winning the ACC division/conference title?

Once PSU entered the Big Ten the rivalry ended. PSU's main rivals now are OSU and Michigan with Harbaugh as coach.

I think Pitt fans want PSU to be their main rival again because we really don't have a hated rival in the ACC. Yet.

Yea Ohio State and Michigan think of Ped State as a rival just like they think of Indiana as a rival. we both have no real natural rivals in our conferences although I think there are a few schools I can work up some dislike towards moving forward, perhaps the ville.

I like a lot of what you said mbe 34.

But then I read

"If he can win 8 games next year I'd be ecstatic."

Wow. 8 wins will do it for you.

I am expecting big things from these coaches right away. We have enough players and an easy enough schedule to win 9 games with a good coach.

Now we are all saying we believe that we have that good coach, yet 8 wins should make us ecstatic?

Personally, I'd feel mildly disappointed with 8 wins.

9 wins and I'd feel pretty good.

10 wins next year would get me feeling really good.

11 or more and I'd be ecstatic.

We have had 6 win seasons it seems like forever, to expect a 10 win season from a first year head coach with kids he hardly knows is unreasonable, if it happens I will be ecstatic.

PSU isn't Ohio State's rival.
For the sake of clarity, OSU is 15-7 since PSU joined the Big ten, 7 of the last 10 and, 3 in a row over the Peds. About to go 4 in a row.
63-14 two years ago:
63-14!!!
Michigan is OSU's one and only rival.
Everyone else is just a conference game.

Using that logic how can Michigan be considered a rival Ohio State? OSU has obliterated Michigan recently, havent they?

Since GW Bush took office Michigan has beaten OSU only TWICE. Complete domination by OSU

To each his own -
This is a tougher schedule than last year's
Pitt hasn't had 8 wins since Wanny's last year.

Someone posted that Pitt has lost to everyone on the schedule in the last 2-3 years.
That's amazing.
ANY win will be an accomplishment.
Youngstown State - Bo Pellini - I'm looking forward to that game.
Akron - They humiliated Pitt last year. Our group was talking about Hotel reservations and partying in Akron (if that's possible)

Most optimistic since Wanny ruined the Hillbillies dreams
(He followed it up with the opening loss to Ohio)

Hail to Pitt

Dumb.

So does that mean Va Tech is Ohio State's rival? Does this mean Akron's our rival?

Dumb, but hey whatever works to support the narrative on this board that the Nits are not relevant then go for it. As stupid as it is.

I 100% AGREE

This roster is basically the same roster that was 6-7 last year. I don't expect miracles -- winning 10 games WOULD BE A MIRACLE.

I would love to see an 8 win season with this group. If Chryst had any brains at all, he could have won 8 games last year.

With the tougher schedule, 8 wins will be tougher this year -- but Narduzzi and staff is exponentially better than Chryst and staff, so I think it is very possible.

80% of our team was FR or SO, these guys are gonna

play together for 2-3 years as a unit. Factor in Narduzzi's record as a defensive coordinator, and I think we have a right to be optimistic.

Steel keep in mind the young Pitt team will be a year older, stronger, and hopefully smarter plus the coaching staff is better!

This should make a huge difference in 2015.

We got pushed around on D a bit last year and I'm saying that should change! In addition the upper classmen will have some freshman wanting their jobs that also helps.

Go Pitt!

We've replaced FIU and Boston College with Louisville and Notre Dame. This year, 8 wins will be an accomplishment. I hope to get to 7. I don't doubt that we'll score points, but getting to 8 wins will be tough. We should start 2-0. After that, we'll have to see. A lot of early games on the road doesn't help a new staff/team either. Do you honestly believe the defense will be that much better next year? Narduzzi can be a great coach, but he's working with very little right now on that side of the ball. The year after that he loses our two best offensive playmakers. It's going to take time to get the offense and defense both working the way he wants it at the same time. I really don't think we see a big jump until 2017 at the earliest.

9fold,

We gonna see you guys in the BCS Playoffs this year? What's your prognostication for the year?

To me, you're the 5th best team in the BIG 10....maybe.

Thank you for your brilliant insight as well.

No Words:

Rename Curtin
Road between University Drive and Porter Road as The Paterno Way .

Designate the address of Beaver Stadium as 409 The Paterno Way ; every piece of mail would
be an advertisement. Place the following above the South Tunnel Entrance:

Beaver
Stadium

409 The Paterno Way

Success
with Honor

Designate the address of the BJC as 1 The Paterno Way .

Think about the team and band coming to the game down the
street on The Paterno Way.
