I've never seen someone, either in real life or in a photo, wearing one of these incredibly ugly and fantastical get-ups you see in so many fashion shows.

I get the strong feeling that most of these shows are held nowadays as a way for designers to declare their status to each other, and as an excuse to party and get wild.
