Seriously - what happens now with Leveon? He has to report, right? What options do the Steelers have? Is it possible that they say no thanks - you can't report? Not really sure all the nuances.
It did seem a little odd as Samuels looked pretty good as well.

James Conner is on pace for 2,107 total yards and 21 TDs. Last year, Le’Veon Bell had 1,946 yards and 11 TDs.

Connor has almost twice the rushing yards of Barkley the last 2 weeks (146 to 81).
If Barkley is supposed to be the next Barry Sanders what does that make Connor?
Edit: I forgot to mention Connor was on bye week last week so that's 1 game verses 2 for Barkley.

They would have to withdraw his tender and cut him free. No chance of that. The way I see it LeVeon will report before week 9. The Steelers will use a 2 week exemption on him and he will suit up for week 11, giving him the 6 games he needs to become a free agent. Then he will sign somewhere else and the Steelers will get a 3rd round compensory pick in the 2020 draft.There is also a chance the Steelers could work out a trade before the deadline Tuesday. They would probably want at least a second round pick and LeVeon would have to agree to the trade and sign the tender.
They will welcome him to sign his tender before the deadline so they can trade him.
Because If it only takes one hit to lose a rb- no reason to spend so much on one.
It makes him lucky to be playing for the Steelers. I love Connor, but no one on earth can gain yards behind the Giants offensive line.
Giants is certainly bad, but not the worst OL in the league.
Browns OL is horrible, 49ers probably worse than the Giants as well.
Somehow Eli's thrown for 700 yards behind them in the same games.
For what Bell wants ( $)the Steelers can find another rb or two as a back-up for Conner.
Let Le'Veon go destroy some other team's cap space. I LOVE CONNER. He is playing unreal.
