This message board in 2 weeks . . . .

Yes last night was disappointing and is a big punch in the gut to the hopes of a 8-9 win season. But I can't imagine what this message board will look like if the next 2 weeks go the way that most people think it will. Could you imagine Pitt sitting at 5-5 and 2-4 in the ACC? It will be absolute chaos! Hopefully Pitt can pull the upset next week (remember Nov. 2014 upset?) and turn the season back to an upward trend.

Well... it is the same few anti-Pitt posters spewing the same stuff over and over. It is not like there is an influx of turn-coats here. Going into the season, I predicted a 7-5 record. We had zero WR, Price/Whitehead on defense and that was all, an average QB, and a running back coming back from cancer! I am beyond thrilled we took Penn State to the woodshed, so the rest for me is gravy. And to be honest, with all that, we are still a very good team, barely losing to teams. FAR better than years past where we would get killed a few times a year. Anyone can see the staff has us playing good ball.

Even last year, a 3 pt last second 57 yard FG loss, a 7 point loss to NC on the last drive and a 5 pt loss to Miami, all without Conner and a defense Narduzzi threw together without aid of a recruiting class, other than pulling Whitehead out. There is no doubt Price looks far better in this defense, and no doubt the QB looks to see where Whitehead is and throws it the other way. We get Wade, Ford, and Hamlin gets going, and they cant do that.

So, then, both sides of the ball look promising!

If people expect Pitt to win either of the next two games, then they are sniffing glue. Is it possible we win either game? Sure. But based on what I'll seen this year, not likely.

I predicted another 8-5 season. I'll stick with that. I believe we will beat Duke & Syracuse and win our bowl game.

And really.. we are in every game. It is well played and chance to win everyone. So far, I am happy with the season. Would love to have scored 12 more points and be undefeated... but certainly never thought we were Clemson or Alabama anyways.

I joked with my Dad that after the PSU win we could go 2-10 and it'd still be a good season. But in all honesty I thought 7 wins was realistic, with 8-9 being outstanding. My only concern is with these stumbles that the much needed recruits for the secondary (both committed and still uncommitted) will look elsewhere.

I agree... the season is good with me after kicking their arses.

They certainly can't go into the next 2 games with the same 'line up for jump balls and make a play' philosophy on defense. They're teetering in a danger zone of the wheels falling off.

Pitt can easily win over Clemson and Miami. All they need to do is score every time they have the ball, and onside kick on the kickoffs every time. And recover each onside kick.

Simple.

Come on. Whitehead isnt even in pass coverage half the time. He's stopping the run.

Yeah. the half time the other team runs he is.

??? huh? He is pass protecting every passing play. He seldom blitzes

And don't under any circumstances allow the other team's QB to get his hands on the ball. If the opposing QB can throw passes, we'll lose.

I think we can beat Duke if we play as well as we can on both sides of the ball. Syracuse will be a struggle because they have a QB who can pass. Clemson and Miami are pipe dreams, if you're realistic. Yes, we could win those games. But both of those teams would have to have monumental collapses and we'd have to play a perfect game.

Nothing would surprise me, we could win them all or lose them all or split , wouldn't shock me.

We are going to score 35 or more in every game left except possibly vs Clemson. We will likely win at least two. We will probably put 50 on Duke and over 40 on the Cuse. I just don't think either Duke or Cuse will out score us. IMHO we win at least 2 more--three if we outscore a beat up Miami. So I still believe it will be no worse than 7-5 at the end.

When should we ever to expect to win games?

PITT has a much better chance to win 3 of the last 4 than some are giving them credit for. PITT will score points and will get pressure on Kaya. Clemson is a pipe dream, but who knows.....

Miami is not looking good at all here in late October. The Clemson game whatever, would be awesome to pull a huge upset but who really thinks that will happen. But a loss to Miami would be pretty bad. Game is pretty much a toss-up because they certainly have talent. But they just flat out have not played well at all lately.
