First off I love the guys moxie on twitter going at PSU. However, as we get closer to the end of the year I am not sold on him as a coach so far. Yes Pitt lost 3 linemen when you include graduation and JJS's injury but we had a ton of experience still. We basically are only starting O'Neill as a true fresh player (although at a huge position).
I think even given the hurdles for this year that the o-line play has been below what I expected. I went back and looked at Peterson's resume and his time at OSU was nice but he was not the OL coach he was the recruiting coordinator. He really only has 3 years experience as an OL coach 2 at UAB and 1 at Akron.
I was just looking for some more expert opinion on what some are seeing from the OL. We might just be spoiled from having some great OL coaches like Heuber and Wise over recent history but the development of this line seems to really be lagging (and some of that could be play calling or even RBs not stepping {both as ball carriers and blockers}).
