Over the years, Pitt has brought in several of the smaller, quicker-type skill players - guys who were supposed to make big plays as slot receivers and/or kick returners. In recent years, few if any of them have worked out. In fact, their performances have been so pedestrian that I can't dredge up their names right now.

Did Pitt finally get it right with Quadree Henderson? I can still see him dancing thru the Navy tacklers in the bowl game (I have erased all memories of that game after the opening kickoff).

Would be great to see QH become a true, consistent offensive threat and become Pitt's version of Antonio Brown.

Go Pitt.

I thought he looked prime to pop a ko return most of the season. He has a chance to be a pretty important guy as the third wr, lots of carries on jet sweeps, etc.

As much as anything else contributing to the small guys not being productive is the fact that we haven't really used them properly, part of that is due to play calling and part due to QBing but the whole idea is to match these guys underneath against LBs against whom they have a distinct speed advantage. We haven't really exploited the opponents' LBs that way.

And seeing as to how teams have exploited that against us for years you'd have thought that someone would have noticed it might have been a pretty good idea for us to try.

Outside of a few plays from Saddler, PITT hasn't really utilized a small, quick player well in the recent past. Stephens-Howling was excellent on screens, but that was coming out of the backfield.

Q. Henderson brings incredible speed and shiftiness in the open field, which can really change how opponents line up on defense.

I'm interested to see if Canada has him up on the LOS or a few steps back to allow him to beat his opponent with quicks rather than strength.
