Let me preface this by saying that VA was the more experienced, confident and better team. Perkins provides them with a 'swagger' that emanates through the team, because he can make plays out of nothing. Bronco in 4 years has surpassed Pitt after his dominating bowl win and win here, despite not having top recruiting classes.

1) Pickett is just not comfortable. He doesn't see field well, and is not accurate. He did make some plays with his legs, but overall I really thought he would be improved under Whipple. He may down the line.
2) I don't understand the game plan. Pitt physically beat VA up in the run game last year, so instead of trying to show physical presence, they don't run the ball. Pitt's identity has been the run, as Narduzzi stated to the media. So, they pass and pass with an unproven QB and OL.
3) Pitt's OL looked overmatched at times, creating pressure on Pickett. They will have to improve.
4) Too many dropped passes. Didn't help the QB's (or offense's) confidence. Lost some big plays.
5) Defense was put into bad situations, and for most part held their ground. It looks like a strength.
6) I hope this game doesn't kill fan hopes, or it is going to be a boring season at Heinz.
7) I didn't sleep all night. I have to convince myself that Pitt's results shouldn't mean as much.

Despite the extreme disappointment last night, I will maintain my hopes of a good season. PSU is way too talented for Pitt, and UCF is tough, but coming north. Hope for a win there and good rest of Coastal season. I will be at home games, and hope that at my age, I will witness at least one more great season in football and hoops. Have a great day Panther fans.
