1. Wow what a game. Counter punch after counter punch and an incredible kick by a maligned kid who redeemed himself from last year's Duke game in a special and memorable way.
2. Does it need to be reiterated that we have made a MAJOR upgrade bringing HCPN and Co into the Pitt family? Basically the same cast + Mr. Peterman and a certain 5 star Safety and man it's light years ahead of what I witnessed over the last 30 years since Jackie left. Halftime adjustments. Enthusiasm. Swag. Aggression, etc. I know it's only 6 games into the Narduzzi Era but wow it sure looks we got a HC that can be a Program-definer - finally!
3. Tyler Boyd - in one word simply - WOW! Dude is the Swiss Army Knive of Pitt FB. I'd even bet TB could slide over to D in a pinch and wouldn't miss a beat subbing into our defensive backfield or LB core. Better appreciate him while we have him cuz we are watching a future great and bonafide #1 NFL draft pick at work week after week.
4. Thought the OL was incredible yesterday. Nasty. Mean. Solid in pass protection. Well done boys.
5. That being said I'll go out on a limb and say by the time O'Neill is finished at Pitt he will also be a NFL #1 draft pick. Is anyone else as stunned as I am on how natural he looks after only 6 games as a RT. It's pretty scary how good he's gonna be with another 30 lbs of muscle and a year experience under his belt.
6. I know it's tough to find a negative but I agree with other Posters that it's time to let someone else return kicks. Tyler is too valuable and frankly he's just not real good at it right now. Love to see Whitehead back there.
7. Did I mention the halftime adjustments? Again - Wow - just hasn't been seen at Pitt in 30+ years and already after a 6 game simple we see a staff that is willing to move a few things around or try a few different packages and players and Bam the opponent is reeling. It's also incredibly impressive that our backups are so readily prepared to step in at a moments notice and not miss a step. Very impressive.
8. Wow we have some good TE's. Mr. Holtz will be drawing a check next year IMO. Just a nasty, nasty man in the run game and an underrated athlete in the passing game.
9. Oh and masterful job by Mr. James Cheney, a good ole boy who knows some Southern barbecue (obviously - LOL ) and offensive FB. Thought he called an incredible game yesterday. Seemed to have the Jackets on their heels most of the day and man that TB halfback option and the CV misfire were things of beauty. PS Coach seems like the kind a guy that you wanna grab an adult cocktail with and listen to some awesome FB tales into the wee hours.
10. What a great recruiting week as well. Paris Ford is in the Robert Foster / Tyler Boyd "can't miss" category of athletes at the HS level. That and he seems to be the guy that will get the 412 Crew further galvanized to say "Pitt is it!" in the next few months. PS Word out of Woodland Hills through a buddy of mine is that Mr. Miles Sanders is about 60/40 Pitt right now but that Mom has to be convinced that Oakland is a safer and better place for her son than the backwoods of State College. Gonna be interesting coming down the stretch for sure. H2P!
