Jerry Palm forecasting Pitt vs Purdue in the Military Bowl. That would be somewhat of a downer to me at this point in the season.

I am hoping for Pitt to be in the Holiday Bowl for the easy trip (for me) and beautiful location, Palm showing Notre Dame vs Navy for that game which seems like a bit of a reach.

I mean I get why Notre Dame/Navy would be a popular choice in that spot. With those two teams not playing for the first time in a long time and the San Diego area having a large military presence it would be a natural.

However despite yesterday’s comeback win this Navy team is not real good and probably shouldn’t be in a position to play in that good of a Bowl.

But Navy isn’t taking the ACC spot, right?

heck with our schedule and offense id be happy with that. I can’t see us losing less than 4. Before the disastrous rescheduling I really thought we would be 10-2.

If Pitt gets 7 wins this season they will be lucky. Losses to Clemson, ND and Miami seem almost certain. They would need 5 wins of the remaining 6 others games to get to 7. Good Luck at that happening.

Disappointed to say that after watching the game this weekend, Pitt will be lucky to get three more wins this season. What's with all the penalties?

A win is a win is a win. This is Pitt.....enjoy the crazy ride. Can’t believe we are favored over Louisville......

I know the projections are way early and silly at this point, but the first thing that jumped out at me on Palm's predictions was UNC in a New Years Bowl and ND in the Holiday bowl. I think there is zero chance that a bowl with a choice takes UNC over ND. ND would have to have at least 2 less wins. Even one less win and they are taking ND if allowed. This is no knock on UNC as all this applies to Pitt too, just they way ND is still valued.

Are we certain bowls happen this year? I kind of assumed they won't as so much depends upon attendance driving these and I got to imagine we are still in semi lockdown by then....that is unless all are played in Florida. Then all bets are off.

This would have disappointed me with our original schedule. But now I think we'll end up in a cluster of 7-4ish teams, and bowl slots will either be awarded on fan reputation (if travel is allowed), which would put us in the Military Bowl or strict location (if fan attendance is not allowed, and they just want to limit travel), which would put us in the Military Bowl. So either way... Military Bowl. But we'll see how it plays out.

Looking forward to the endless debate about if the ACC has a "can't jump a team with at least two more wins" rule and if it even applies any year, never mind a pandemic year.
