I was there for the first 90 mins, and here my observations. (Not an expert)
The offense was extremely uninspiring. I mean really did not look good.
I dont believe a Tight End was targeted the whole time. A couple of long balls,
but way too many passes at the line of scrimmage for my liking.
Some positives - Conner looks much faster than last season.
The offensive line is huge, and the 2nd team may even be bigger.
DJ & Biz should be able to collapse any D-Line this coming season.
They are both huge and ripped.
Peterman can really move well in and out of the pocket. He looked really good.
Chad did not do much, and Bertke did not get a lot of snaps.
The QB's and receivers did not get much accomplished today.
The defense looked awesome. I mentioned a lot of short passes, and there was a DB right in the
face of every receiver. I think the DB's touched more passes than the receivers. There were
a couple of blown coverages, but I would say the Def will definitely win the jersey for the day.
The line and LB's controlled the middle of the field. There was def some pressure put on the QB's,
but it seemed to come from the LB's. No one on the line stood out, but they did not give up much yardage
so they were doing their job.
There were a couple of recruits there:
Rashad Wheeler
David Adams
Exree Loe - He was a physical specimen.
Hinish
There were a couple of other guys that looked like recruits, but I did not get their names.
It was pretty cool that the team gave each recruit his own Pitt jersey to wear.
One last thing, overheard 3 guys talking, no idea who they were, but the one guy def seemed to be important,
they were talking about Team Evolve, said the whole crew is ready to commit and make a splash, but they cant get the one player to pull the trigger. I assume that player was Hamlin, but really could be anyone. This note is not anything new to the board, but I figured I would share.
