Replay review official working his last game at the prestigious Raycom Media Camellia Bowl, retiring after a 31 year career highlighted by a virtuoso performance as referee in the 13-9 game if I'm not mistaken. Made the officiating in today's Duke-Utah hoops game look like a paragon of impartiality. Apologies if we forget the gold watch and well wishes.

Actually, if you recall the 13-9 win, Tomczak was not the issue. The Big East plant to try to get the Hoopies the W and into the National Championship Game was the Back Judge. This is the guy who made both BOGUS holding calls on Odell Turner; one nullified a Shady TD and one nullified a Shady 1st down on a naked pitch that would have enable Pitt to run out the clock. I don't think Tomczak knew the mission of this guy ( until after he watched the film obviously ). The Big East Guido leadership set Tomczak up to look bad.

Come to think of it, the Big East Leadership must have had it in for Odel Turner as they screwed him and Pitt over that same season at Rutgers by calling Offensive Pass Interference on him to take away the game winning TD. The Rutgers DB after the game was quoted as saying " I was surprised. I was sure the penalty was against me ".

Remember that one well, start to feel like you're cursed when you can't even get a call to go your way against the dumpster fire that is Rutgers.
