Totally spot on

Pitt is a laughingstock for lowering the buyout and thinking we could do just as good or better than Dixon. The best thing Pitt can do is learn from this and not make the same mistake with Narduzzi.
And Scott Barnes is a very rich man despite being no better at his job than an ambitious middle school kid.

Well, the headline isn't exactly accurate. But the substance of the article is accurate. The Pitt administration and the specific Pitt boosters who pushed Dixon out were very stupid. Very, very stupid. And most of them are still around unfortunately. He was all set to stay at Pitt for a long time the night before he left.

Show this to Pitt’s administration and they’ll just shrug their shoulders. Not a ****ing care in the world. Sports are evil, always have been to the school. God forbid you take care of the two most important sports throughout your history. The horror in doing so.

I also don’t buy the stupid theory that he had taken us as far as he could. He had 6 of the top 7 returning when he was ‘forced out’. That type of team he would have had 25+ wins with and at least a 5 seed in the tourney.

Not unless he recruited a PG and a center. Stallings failed to do that and look what happened.

True but I think he would have gotten an adequate point guard for that team had he stayed.
Stallings needed to have found a JUCO or grad transfer point guard for his season #1 and then repeated DIxon's last season's W-L results with a winning record and post-season play. That could/should have stabilized the program and created some recruiting hype. Then he needed to keep Cam Johnson. When he failed to do both those things his fate was sealed, IMHO. It never ahould have gotten to the point where a start over from zero rebuild needed to happen. Most Pitt fans neither wanted or expected a complete start over rebuild.

Absolutely. Sing it brother!

Stallings totally ruined Justice Kithcart. Jaime would have definitely rallied the selfless, hard working duo of Young and Artis to the highest of heights in what was a totally crappy ACC, only having 9 teams that made the NCAAT field. I have no doubt he would have grabbed a former starting PG from a lower conference too as a backup, because he totally had a great history of success in doing so. Plus, he would have recruited a few more 4-5 stars to round out the bench because recruiting was operating at full steam. I think they could have won 30…

Hold on, I have more to say. Let me just go repack my bong - even though I really don’t need it because Dixon’s first NCAAT win in 8 years already has me as high as a kite - naturally!

Kithcart was like an 8 PPG guy in D2. Stallings didn't ruin him. He was a horrible basketball player and a complete whiff. Its Stallings's fault for not realizing this and going after a better PG

Yeah, he averaged 25 wins for his 13 years here and has won twice as many games as Pitt has since he left. Keep on believing!
