This is the first time I've been able to assess the new coaching staff. I have to say, I'm impressed. They had the kids ready to play tonight. What a great, back and forth, competitive football game. A couple of takes from this game. One, were better than people think. Two, the defense is much improved from last season. The defense brought it tonight. Three, Peterman is the starting quarterback. He is the guy we need to ride from here on out.
Yes. For all you haters, he had two picks tonight. In a tough environment. It happens. It's what he did after those picks that make him the guy. On the last drive, I had the feeling he could take the offense down the field for a tying score. He is decisive, spreads the ball and has a strong arm. The defense and special teams kept us in the game all night. It's a tough loss but give props to the Iowa kicker who banged a 57 yarder as time expired.
