First I would like to admit that Wilson is much quicker and more athletic than I thought he was from watching him play 2 or 3 games on TV in high school.

The article states (and seemingly J.Robinson endorses) Wilson starting to seem more time at the 2G.

I like what I have seen from Wilson and Cam Johnson this season and feel they will develop into fine players but I do not believe it is a good idea for Jamie to become Dr. Frankenstein at this point.

I feel we have played pretty nice basketball this season with the two big exceptions being Louis and NC ST, teams that historically have been tough matchups for us. I do not believe that these two bumps in the road should drastically change what we have been doing. I believe an experienced lineup of complementary players getting the ball to our stars (Young and Artis) is the way to go. This team will go as far as Young, Artis and Robinson takes us and I think that will be a good, not great season. Tinkering at this point, risks even that.

Now is the time we should begin shortening the rotation, not expanding it.

Scruffy also endorses Wilson getting more time at the 2. We aren't getting a lot of production from that spot so if we have other options that may be more productive, why not explore them? If we had a clear best option at the 2 I might agree. But neither Sterling or Jones are doing much for us currently.

We need a 2 who is willing to pull the trigger. Sterling simply won't. He has earned his way to less minutes, unfortunately. I was very excited for him at the beginning of the season.

I like that not only will Damon take more shots, and thus, keep the defense honest and from sagging down towards Young/Artis, but Damon is a much better creator and distributor. All considered, his presence can and should make things much easier for Mike and Jamel. I think this is a very good move going forward.

Just a cautionary word on playing Smith and possibly Maia less (as has happened in the last 3 games): If you have to rely on grad transfers to plug recruiting holes, you might want to play those grad transfers just in case you need to recruit grad transfers once again.

Sorry, that's a poor reason to keep playing someone. Sterling Smith has all of 6 points the past three games.

Smith seems to be terrible at getting to the hoop, just judging by the the few attempts he has made to drive. That is one of Wilson's strengths.

Smith is a good 3 pt shooter, but for some reason is reluctant to take them. Wilson isn't hesitant, and should make enough of them to keep a defense honest.

Wilson also can help Robinson with ball handling. Smith doesn't seem to want the ball in his hands.

I am not a D1 basketball coach, but if I was, I would tell Sterling Smith: SHOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Smith should be shooting a minimum of 8 3s a game, even if 2 or 3 of them are "bad" shots. He's leaving points on the table. I cant believe we cant coach him to shoot more.

I'd rather see Cameron Johnson seeing court time, remember he was a point guard in hs. Having a 2 shoot is fine as long as he can.

In the last 3 games Smith is 2 of 4 and Wilson is 4 of 11. Smith does need look to shoot more but you can not tell him to shoot. He has to take the shots he feels comfortable taking. I would rather see Smith taking those shots than Wilson, Johnson and Jeter jacking up bad shots or committing turnovers.

I feel our problem has not been offense (except once we panic and get out of our flow and either rush good shots or take bad shots). I feel there has been an over reaction to the Louis and NC ST games. I do not believe we have to blow up anything. We play better when our experienced complimentary players play to our stars. Most good teams have a big 3. Our big 3 are Young, Artis and Robinson. We do not need Maia and Smith to be more than complimentary pieces. I definitely believe it would be a mistake to move away from S.Smith in favor of an raw, inexperienced (though pedigreed) freshman in Wilson or a not ready for major ACC minutes Cam Johnson.

Smith and Maia have already contributed against non cupcakes, and I fully expect that they can contribute again if given the opportunity. Jamie needs to stay the course.

I really like Sterling, but I would absolutely love any scenario which puts Damon on the court more. The kid is gonna be a star, might as well get him some learning experience early. Also potentially gives the offense even more of a spark with his athleticism.

I think S.Smith justified my faith in him today.

He's a great shooter. Been at around 50% from three most of the season. If he shoots more than a couple times a game, he's probably gonna make a good bit of them. I think they need to get him more involved, and some of it was on him too. He also needs to keep taking these shots when he gets the looks.
