half of this stuff always goes to “new” infrastructure and pet projects that nobody uses and then we have to end up spending more money for future maintenance. I’m a conservative, but Trump just wants to ensure employment numbers come election time.

The infrastructure in this country is a disgrace. Everything from lock and dam systems to sewage and water supply is outdated. Add in the vulnerable power grid and where are whistling past the graveyard towards another disaster even worse than the current

not at all. i didnt think it was socalist when obama did it, nor did anyone say it was at the time. fdr did and he was a dem and i dont consider that socialist. its just government jobs creation.

the foundation of the highway system was built during the depression. most notably our state and national parks

It's "socialism" when you take from one and give to another, especially targeted others on an unequal basis. That's Bernie.

While I don't like this spending, it isn't "socialism" for a couple of reasons. First, it doesn't take anything from anybody. It isn't paid and will never be paid for. Any consequences will shared equally when the currency and economic impacts are felt in the future. Second, while it does target specific industries, etc., they are those industries, etc. that a government decision caused to fall into crisis. It is more akin to compensation for a government taking.

No that's no Bernie, not even close, Bernie's programs are all UNIVERSAL, in his free college plan, Trump's kids get the free college just the same as the poorest kids, all his programs are like that.

Sure he espouses progressive taxation, but so do the Republicans.

Not all. Paying off student debt is just one example. Progressive taxation is socialism and Bernie exacerbates it.

Your brand of double talk is funny nonsense. Also add this, Trump’s taking from the poor & middle class and giving to the wealthy with tax cuts isn’t socialism.

I’m pretty sure you have no clue what “taking from one and giving to another” even is based on that post.

It's not shared equally. Some people are paying a higher percentage of their income in taxes. Some are paying much less or nothing. So more is being taken from one group and given to others, even if distributed uniformly. Although, the stimulus is not going to be distributed uniformly. If you earn more, you get less, as I understand it.

But I guess to can get around the argument by saying it will never be paid for.

If the dems get in the White House, they'll start one of their BIG wars. Maybe invade Thailand or Hungary. The MIC spool-up will create lots of jobs & revenue for 4 years.

No one is paying taxes to pay for this relief bill. I already said that.

You're right about the distribution. I didn't want to get into that level of detail on my phone.

Everything? I'm talking about the whole monetary system, we decide whether people live or die based on money, whether they eat or have shelter or healthcare based on numbers on virtual balance sheets. the capability to feed, house and medically treat them is always in existence, but the numbers prevent it from happening, is this the only way to manage a society? I get it, I'm thinking way outside the box. Think of the fictional "Star Trek" where the premise is that society has "evolved beyond the need for money" maybe it's crazy, but that would seriously be a great thing if it could really come to pass IMO

You’re not talking about monetary systems at all. You’re talking about changing from capitalism which requires a change in the way we’re governed. You want socialism or worse.

Not sure what I want, all I know, is that I feel this system, isn't the best IMO. Especially when having the most money has been enhanced to the point that you TOTALLY own the government, for awhile there, we weren't as totally owned by Wall Street and the 1% we could pass social security or Medicare or things like that that those people don't support, now everything, EVERYTHING goes their way 100%.

Taxes. In the aggregate they will continue to pay as well as all of their relatives the enormous payments that the wealthy received that creating trillions of dollars in deficits.

The Kings and nobles in Europe did this for centuries to the people.

The system changed but the results are the same.
