Any hints on who that may be from what you're hearing down your way?

Oh boy.. the dream 3+5 schedule is still a possibility? 4 pods? Nice. My fear is that 16th team. I dont think we need to get desperate by adding a small catholic or Navy to appease ND.

Him:
Don't fear the 16th team--much the opposite. And there would be no reason to think that the ACC will get desperate and make a mistake--to appease ND or anyone else. Again, it's the opposite approach and that has proven itself here once again.
It's time to stop fearing and start trusting the leadership of the conference. Also it's time to pay some respect to Stan Wilcox and John Thrasher for their own foresight and leadership. That goes largely unnoticed around here.

Lets say the ACC added ND and Navy (football only) under the condition that ND only has to play 6 or 7 ACC games (including Navy every year) and got to keep NBC, would that be the worst thing?

They still get some schedule flexibility and can win the North and play a 13th game more often than not

North
Syr
BC
Pitt
ND
Lou
Navy
UVa
VT

Read above. Navy will not be 16. He also stated that there will be 4 pods. (I believe I read that correct)

If they would ever add ND and Navy, ND could play Pitt, Navy and BC every year as traditional rivals plus 5 other ACC teams, still leaving the Domers with 4 other slots to schedule traditional OOC opponents like USC.

I know. Pipe dream.

WTF are you guys talking about? It's to announce the ACC Network, and the details behind it.

I hope some of you are being sarcastic and I just missed it.

Yea. There seems to be some fun "Dude-like" rumors on FSU board about expansion so I figured I'd have fun with it also.

Yep. At this point, ND as a full-fledged ACC member is a pipe dream.

And why should they? They're the perfect example of someone having a loaf of bread under each arm but reaching-out for ours, too - and we give it to 'em.

Unless they finally realize that they make less on their TV deals than Syracuse?

They make more when total payout revenue is actually calculated. Not tons more, but more. Plus they get all their home games on NBC while Syracuse is mostly relegated to ESPN3 every week.

So according to him when are these teams supposed to be added?

There was an exchange between a site admin on our board and a regular poster.
poster - I think the chance ND joins full in the next 5 years as 10%
admin - probably correct. NDs TV deal is through 2025 so if you were to see a shift it would be around then.
Moz - full response to article with 10% reference below

Despite your disclaimers at the end, your takes are very negative. Putting network in quotes at the top was more than enough to indicate your stance on this.

You contradict yourself by saying that no one knows the boon or bust nature of the ACC network, yet you refer to a widening revenue gap between the ACC and other P5 conferences based on speculative articles that are written with nothing more than a cursory review of a non-profit Form 990 and extrapolation of a number to an assumed football bottom line.

You are correct to temper your expectations for additional details from The Commissioner or anyone at the ACC meetings. There likely will not be any wild numbers thrown around because that's not how successful organizations operate.

Finally, your 10% figure ensures that you will be pleasantly surprised by the next few announcements despite your disappointment with the current one.

That is not happening. John Swofford even acknowledged that there is no chance of ND joining in full. He said that the phone line is always open, though.
