Our offensive line has struggled, and our receivers struggle to get separation. Every time Pitt tries to stretch the field with a deep route our quaterback is running for his life or getting hit. UNC came into the game with a total of 6 sacks all year and had 5 last night. i was at the game last night and also traveled to Syracuse last week and clearly observed the inability of our receivers to get open. You dont get to see that watching a game on television. Pitt tried to go deep on Syracuse a few times and were never able to get the throw off. Defenses are playing us with 9 or ten in the box at times and dont have to defend much space against us.

This is not the same offense as last year. Jared Jones Smith, Rotheram, Clemmings, and of course Conner all missing. Besides Boyd and Holtz, I believe those were 4 of our best players. Conner meant so much to our offense and Rotheram and Clemmings were maulers that beat up defenses. We are limited and will have to win close games that is just who we are right now.

Two games in a row we havent had a sack. Fatigue or teams now adjusting to pitt blitz packages? I still think 8 wins will be a great year and allow Pitt to recruit better players. We lack talent in several areas and have won games so far on guts and effort and some extremely ballsy calls by our staff. Stay positive,we are without a doubt trending upwards. Hopefully everyone shows up next Saturday. This team and staff deserves our support. Enjoy the weekend Pitt fans we are in good hands finally
