My cardiologist and internist, who approved my travel to Greece for a three-week trip in September, both have raised strong objections to my trip to Atlanta next week because of the new virus strain, the fact that no testing is required for plane travel within the country, and the fact that the game is in Georgia, which has few mandated protective measures in place.
I am bummed out not only about missing the game but also not being able to see my immediate family, all of whom live there. But, I am going to listen to them. In May 2018, my internist’s urging that I see a new cardiologist and this cardiologist’s prompt initial evaluation that I had a serious blockage (which turned out to be 95%) unquestionably saved my life.
I have two tickets in Club Section 127, Row 11, with access to the Delta Sky Club. Similar seats are on Ticketmaster for $220 to $350 per ticket (seats on the MSU side selling for higher prices than on the Pitt side). Rather than selling them, I am willing to give them to a Pitt fan, subject to one condition: That fan makes a donation of at least $250 to a local or regional food bank to alleviate hunger during the holidays. No proof of the donation will be required.
Considering the late date, this might be more feasible for someone who already is going to the game but wants to upgrade their seats, but I don’t care. First one to private message me who meets the requirements gets the tickets.
One caveat: They were issued electronically. There is a mechanism on the Peach Bowl site to transfer or sell tickets. I am not the most technologically adept person around but I assume I will be able to handle this.
Please, no b.s. that I should “man up and live my life.” I am living my life now because I listened to these doctors rather than a couple of friends who told me that since I just had seen a cardiologist a month earlier who had scheduled a stress test two months after that appointment, it wasn’t necessary to see another one. My emergency double bypass heart surgery happened 3 weeks before that scheduled stress test—and only 3 days after my initial appointment and stress test with the second cardiologist.
