Twyman named Outland Trophy Defensive Player of Month

Impressive for a guy that some said wouldn’t make the two deep on a certain team east of Pittsburgh ;) Congrats Jaylen! He has a bright future ahead of him. Remember, he’s only a sophomore!

You do realize he is a RS Sophomore and has the option of entering the NFL draft next year don't you?

Yup. I’d love to see him back but if not, that probably means he finished the year strong enough to get drafted (highly) somewhere. Good for him! :)

I hope there's an athletic building in Pitt's future, named after Mr. Twyman. :)
Twyman Stadium has a nice ring to it!

Not to take anything away from JT but how much credit is due to Aaron Donald?
Without that #97, who knows where Twyman would be today? ;) In all seriousness, AD is a huge asset to this program. When Jaylen was teaching the ESPN guy some of his moves in that one segment they ran, it looked a lot like how Aaron would show others in videos.

Actually I think he needs another year to build up his body for NFL play. But then again it's hard to turn down a NFL paycheck when there is always a chance an injury the following year might short circuit that process.

A lot but that is beside the point. Jalen had to buy in and is doing the necessary work on and off the field. I don't know if he will ever be as good as AD but he is as good or better than AD was in his 3rd year.

DL that can penetrate and put pressure on the QB is coveted in the NFL! Gone are the days of the large DL who can only clog up the middle.

This is a really big deal. Congrats to him, and hopefully he can keep it up. Crazy to think he was only an "or" guy before Camp went down (hmmm). I'm sure he'll be an even bigger part of the opposition's gameplans moving forward, so hopefully he can keep up the good work.

The thought of losing him after this season hadn't even crossed my mind, but now I find it quite depressing. I still think he sticks around for one more. I hope so.

I agree, but again it’d be hard to turn down that paycheck. I hope we have to deal with this come spring, it’s a good problem to have!
