PITTSBURGH—Pitt head football coach Pat Narduzzi announced today that former Panthers greats Tyler Boyd and Jabaal Sheard will serve as honorary coaches for the Blue-Gold Game presented by PNC at Heinz Field this Saturday, April 15. Now highly productive NFL performers, Boyd and Sheard are two of the greatest players in Pitt history at their respective positions. Boyd is the Panthers’ all-time leading receiver with 254 catches for 3,361 yards from 2013-15. He ranks second at Pitt in career all-purpose yards with 5,243. Boyd is coming off a strong rookie season for the Cincinnati Bengals. Sheard was a first-team All-America defensive end and Big East Defensive Player of the Year at Pitt. He compiled 35.5 tackles for loss and 19.5 sacks as a Panther from 2007-10. A key member of the New England Patriots’ Super Bowl LI champion team, Sheard will play for the Indianapolis Colts in 2017...................................
