Uh-oh, SMF...

And if a lot of people are, that makes it right??????

Miller is too dumb to not have evidence against him. The FBI already has it and it will come out in the hearings. But Miller is just the start. There will be many implicated in this mess.

It's not "right" but its something you have to do in this day and age.

You never “have” to cheat to succeed.
There are good people who work hard every day.
Lying, cheating, stealing, breaking the rules is not the path to success.
Aaron Donald is proof.

College basketball isnt life. You have to pay players in college basketball unless you are some ridiculously incredible coach like Tony Bennett or Chris Beard.

AGAIN, this doesn't make it right!!! You guys just don't get it and have no sense of right and wrong. That concept is a hell of a lot more important than getting some wet-behind-the-ears kid to play some silly sport while you cheat to get him. It's not a hard concept to comprehend but for some reason, there are many on here who don't. And we wonder why college sports is a cesspool and is now approaching the NBA in how horrible the product quality is.

No, life is more important. So this is how we prepare the 99% of the kids who will NEVER play the sport for money when they graduate? The 99% are NOT in college to play sports, even though that is how they're getting their tuition paid in most cases. They're in college to get an education and graduate so they can make a living doing something productive. The sports part we see is purely for our entertainment. They're not in this for us.

If we pay college basketball players, then we will need to pay college swimmers, women's lacrosse, track and field guys, women's softball, men's baseball, everyone that plays a college sport. And the pay must be equal for everyone, not more for the revenue sports. How do we financially manage that? Where is the business plan and model to do that?

<SMH>. Why do I even try. It's useless on a message board. So many aren't very smart and have no moral compass or common sense.

You think college basketball is a better product than the NBA?

Lol. Okay.

You think college basketball is a better product than the NBA?

Lol. Okay.

LOL! By a HUGE amount. The NBA is the absolute worst product in any sport, pro or college. It's funny that I've been thinking this for a long time, for years, and I just heard a well known national sports jock say the same thing this past week. And many were agreeing.

But you're certainly entitled to your opinion as well.

You’re doubling down on stupid

Did people honestly think the NCAA was going to do squat?

As a poster on the pay board once said: C.R.E.A.M.

The NBA might be the most entertaining pro sport out there. Constant action and games that last less than 2 1/2 hours. The only idiots who think it’s horrible are those who don’t watch it.

It's stupid to have a well founded opinion accepted by more sports guys than you know??? OK. LOL! But this board never ceases to be entertaining, albeit uninformed.
Yes
It’s stupid to claim that college is a higher level than nba.

It’s utterly stupid.

The worst nba team would beat the best college team by 50.
It’s an entirely a different level - not even same Planet .

Guys, we should all be entitled to our own opinions and to express them in any way we wish without getting attacked. Opinions aren't facts and little of what is posted on this board is fact, if anything.

How much one team can beat another team is not a measure of if the product is a good product. That's just how I feel, though. I'm talking about the whole product, not the individual teams. You're confusing the two. I'm much more entertained by any college game than I am by any NBA game. That's how I measure quality of the product.

But you're right....the worst NBA team would beat most good college teams by 50. So what?

Two questions:

1: Which national radio guy said the NBA was the worst sport across the board?

2: How many NBA games have you watched in the last 2-3 years that would allow you to make an informed assessment about the quality of the product?

So using the word quality and sticking with it is stupid .

The nba is the most elite talent playing at the highest level .
So it’s the highest quality of basketball.

Frankly 80% of college hoops is garbage .
It may be the garbage you like ...but it’s certainly not better quality .

Get ready for the “NBA doesn’t play any defense” routine.

This is true. I watch college basketball primarily and when I turn on the NBA regular season, I am appalled at some of the lack of effort on defense. They do play D in the playoffs though.

People mistake bad offense for good defense in college and mistake exceptional offense for no defense when watching the pros.

Teams like GS, Orlando, Boston, OKC, etc. regularly play outstanding defense regardless of whether it’s the regular season or the playoffs.

Is it possible you’re just trying to say you enjoy college basketball more than the NBA?

What about paying the band, cheerleaders, mascots, baton twirlers etc?

I think it's rather bizarre when people on this board feel the need to defend the NBA. Pittsburgh isn't in the NBA, so IDGAF. I care as much about the NBA as I do the WNBA.

I have watched infinitely more Pitt women's volleyball than I have NBA. Not because it is a better product, but because I have an actual rooting interest. Pretty simple.

Somebody gets it. TO ME, watching any college sport (or high school) is far more enjoyable than watching a pro sport, and especially the NBA. I'd rather watch a Little League game than the NBA. I have tried to watch an NBA game when my sons turn one on when they visit, and I invariably fall asleep. It's just not a good product to me. That's it.

Defending the NBA with me is an exercise in futility. I don't enjoy it. And let me watch anything Pitt and I'll watch that before any pro sports. That includes swimming, baseball, golf, anything. I get more enjoyment out of watching a marathon than I do watching the Stillers, but that's purely because I run marathons and know something about it.

So go ahead and slam me all you want. I'm just stating my opinion that is shared by others, BTW.

I agree. I don’t watch much NBA either. I was just trying to help get the discussion on the rails.

Of course there are others that agree with that opinion, but the vast majority do not. The NBA’s huge popularity is impossible to ignore.

Hey! Calm down. I never said it did! I wouldn't expect you to dig up my other comments on this issue (not in this particular thread, but elsewhere on this board), but . . .
