Penn st fan calls in tells the crew that the Pitt game is not a rivalry but that Penn st will beat Pitt badly and his best advice is for Pitt fans to " sit back and take it". I almost drove off the road. I mean I can hear Paterno giving that same advice to many little boys. " let ticklemonster do his thing just take it."Ugh.

Just another game........where tickets out-value Michigan game tickets

Face it, PITT is outnumbered. They hand out diplomas in cracker jack boxes to the tune of 25,000/year. Their sheer volume leads them to believe they have safety in numbers; which is what led to some of the atrocities on their campus. Recruits hopefully see the value of playing at PITT and how it translates to the NFL, rather than playing in front of 100K (current enrollment at PSU) 7 times each year.

PITT will never be able to compete with the attendance numbers PSU likes to crow about at every opportunity, and we need to accept this. People like the one who called in are simply providing a shining example of what the PSU education system can provide.

Yeah it's just another game for them. Then why are they parading their Big trophy out and honoring their national championship team. They are unbelievable. Cant make this stuff up.

well they don't want to do that when Michigan kills them again! I get playing the game down but to not say it is a rivalry is just plain we are ish

Meh. I don't get worked up over what PSU'ers say. Its like the time a mentally handicapped child sat next to me on the bus and called me "fatty" over and over again. I'm 5'8" 160 lbs and workout 5X a week. After about 5 minutes I didn't hear him anymore. A guy at work tried to get on my nerves with the ole' "we're gonna crush you guys!" My response was "OK."

To be fair and honest, if we somehow win, I'm going to really struggle to not be a jerk about it. I've been ultra classy towards my PSU-loving family all year. The 20-pt spread is just too much to not crow about, if it goes all Hillary Rodham-Clinton for them this year.

All compelling reasons never to play them again

We do not need PSU anymore and thinking we do is a mindset from the old Big East days.

Was the call from James in state college?

"Rivalry" or "Not a rivalry"
Who really cares what label anyone sticks on it?
Count me in the camp that doesn't care when these teams play again after the current series.
I would rather see both schools take this schedule slot to play home-and-home sets with a wide variety of teams.
I would love to see teams like USC, UCLA, Texas, LSU, Auburn, Oregon, Boise State, Bama, Arizona, etc. pay visits to Heinz and Beaver Stadium.
The Pitt-PSU series used to be a big deal. It's not any more, at least not outside of Pennsylvania. I don't see it ever returning to its prior relevance. Heck, if the weather is nice Saturday I will be on a golf course someplace and will watch a replay of the game after I get home.

A guy I work with is a huge OSU fan. He goes to all OSU games, home and away and said he bought tickets on the 30 last year 6 rows from top of stadium and paid $100 each. Those are going for $160 for Pitt so PSU obviously values a Pitt game more than a game vs OSU. Also, he said dont sit near the students because they can get pretty drunk and obnoxious and OSU refuses to ever bring their band back after bottles of pi$$ was thrown at them.

The OSU fan is getting tickets from the secondary market, not from the ticket office. Last year PSU was 4-2 and playing the number two team in the country.
Since then PSU is 8-1, beating number two OSU and Wisconsin along the way. Tickets have risen in price on the secondary market for all games.

Fwiw I saw 300$ for Notre Dame for tickets in 07, if you could find them game day. Few were available.

Yeah wake us up when enabler u beats a good team on their field. Wscy's QB is that game could not throw more than 20 yds and not in Madison.

Beat it enabler u fan.

They know its a rivalry. They are just too blinded by their own sense of entitlement to admit it. They haven't been relevant in college football for some time and now that they are having success, they feel like they never left the elites. Franklin proved it was a rivalry before he ever coached a game by saying he was going to dominate the state in recruiting. He wasn't speaking about Temple. Of course they are going to dominate the state in recruiting. They always have. But they don't always dominate in the W's, as we own the last two victories. Every time a UPS supporter tries to shove something in my face, I'm happy to point out that they should be much better than us, but then why isn't their record better against us all time? Just say one word and watch their facial expressions change..."Sandusky."
"F" those pompous bastards! H2P!

This is the biggest game on our schedule this year. Last year was really difficult for much of the fan base. If you haven't noticed, on bwi, pitt is the number one team talked about. Many of us are not delusional enough to pretend like Pitt isn't the biggest regular season game.

Well before we beat them last season they did lose to temple the year before. Yes his recruiting has been top notch but on the field, his record against the other two in state teams has gotten off to a really bad start. Far from dominating to say the least.
