Undeclared/Exploratory Studies in Agriculture

LOL! That's what I was talking about before. I doubt any of those UK basketball players ever attend classes or take tests on their own. They get everything handed to them and have others do their class work and are given every advantage that the rest of the student population could never get legally. But who cares, right? They win basketball games and make money for the university. That's all that matters.

Unless Pitt has changed the way that they do things, I believe that every freshman player on the Pitt team has an undeclared major.

When you are at the game next time watch the video that they show where the players introduce themselves. On the screen under their name it shows their major. All the freshmen and sophomores just say "Deitrich School of Arts and Sciences". That mean they haven't declared a major yet, or at least hadn't when the video was made. All the juniors and seniors will actually have a real major listed for them.

Not much difference at Pitt and other P5 schools. I remember when the go to majors at Pitt for athletes were Communications and also Social Sciences.

I had a sociology class with Krauser and Lett......I only know the because my foreign recitation teacher would always call their name for attendance.....apprarently not realizing they were athletes.....I never saw them once including on exam day

I remember there was a standard letter template that excused athletes from class. Insert name, days, date, etc.

Yes. That is big time college sports. It is essentially the minor leagues for the NBA and NCAA.

Conversely I had a creative writing class with Demetreus Gore and I don’t think he ever missed a class except when they were on the road.

That is the listed major for 9 players on the Kentucky basketball team.
I wish we had more guys who's academic schedule was just easy crap just to maintain a 2.0 without going to class for 1 to 1 1/2 years to stay eligible to play in the games until they drop out the day after the season ends to prepare for the NBA draft

At least we're doing something right

If colleges truly wanted scholar athletes then the Ivy League model would be universal . Too much moolah in the P6
ball .

I worked in The Book Center for a year, so I got to see a significant amount of book pulls for the athletes...Two of our basketball players didn't pick up their books until finals week. On the flip side, the cheerleading team was practically all neuroscience or business, they had far and away the most rigorous course load of any team.
