Update on One-Time Panther

WTF. I’m not sure he could make a roster in a bad Euro league.

Guy was like the 10th man on a crappy Nebraska team.
Wow. I honestly feel really bad for him if he truly thinks he can make the NBA. I remember I was in 7th grade when I realized my boyhood dream of making the NBA wasn't happening. I feel like he's that kid who hasn't had that realization yet.

FWIW, he absolutely cannot play in a good European league and certainly not the G League. Could he make a team in a bad league like say Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria.....possibly. But those guys make almost nothing.

He’ll make a hell of a lot more in some godforsaken Balkan league than he’s making now, and I’m sure that’s his plan - to go pro in Europe.

He couldn't make a Balkan League.

He'd possibly make a 1st Division team in a really horrible basketball country or a 3rd or 4th Division team in a good basketball country. He could make less than 10K per year.

Basically, he will be a "semi-pro" who will have to have another job to pay the bills.

The cost of attendance payments+ free food at Nebraska will be worth more than his Euro salary

I don’t think he’s a guy who stands to get paid to play basketball anywhere.

When he was at pitt, i thought there was some merit to his game, but it was also pretty obvious he was a step slow and just not explosive enough to be an ACC contributor. Not sure why he didnt just transfer to a mountain west or A-10 school or something.

He did. He transferred to Nevada then Mussleman left.

He has some talent and a mean streak.
All of his coaches didn't seem to like or value him.
NBA? Don't think so.
But in the right place, who knows?

College isn’t for everyone , why stay there if your not playing and an education isn’t what your after ? Maybe someone somewhere will pay him to play ball .

He should of stuck it out one more year and played TE. Hope it works out for him. If not, worst case scenario he could probably make decent money coaching an AAU team.

I'm entering the draft, too. F it. I have about as good of a chance as him at being selected (or making a livable wage playing basketball anywhere, for that matter).

Most good leagues overseas limit the number of US players. Hard to imagine 2 better players not taking the spots before him.

He could have squeezed a free graduate degree out of sticking around the college game. It would serve him well in the future, because I don't see him making a living as a player.

Does he already have his Bachelor's? It's a little less jaw-dropping if he at least has that. But yes... he still should have taken advantage of as much free schooling as possible.

I got no responses 3 years ago. Tried the transfer portal this year Same sh1t.

I guess ill declare for the draft as well...because you know anyone can declare anything

I'm sure he'll land somewhere overseas where he can play. Maybe he just makes enough to cover expenses (which is probably the case for most of these kids). At worst, he gets to spend some time overseas doing what he loves until reality sets in and he has to get a regular job like most of us.

As for his mention of the draft, I'd assume this is more to get his name out there. I doubt he believes he has any chance to get drafted.

He will not make enough to "cover expenses." He will play for the European equivalent of the Washington Wild Things. Inotherwords, he'll make almost nothing and have to have a real job to cover expenses.

Maybe not. But who cares? If he wants to continue doing what he loves and is willing to make sacrifices to do it, more power to him.

Yeah, imagine that? We should all be so lucky and courageous in life.

Funny how the most critical of people are the ones spending hours out of their day fantasizing and posting about utter nonsense to complete strangers.

While they steal from their employer.

Is there a pro league for 80 year olds that I can play in? I can lie about my age by 4 years.

If courageous is running alone with a sword at a 500 man army holding automatic guns, this man is a brave brave man.
