Updated: Mike Leach has passed away

Well before this thread goes the way of, let me ask this....what do you think Leach would have done at a school with resources, like Texas, or Alabama? Would he have won big? Reminds me a little of Huggins in that he won a lot of games at programs that aren't super blue bloods (no offense WVU, you have a good basketball program) but doesn't have a whole lot of accomplishments behind it (conference championships, national titles, etc).

MSU wasn't much better in year three than it was in year 2 with Moorehead. Would have been interesting to see what would happened in a few more years, but I don't think recruiting was his forte and tough to win in SEC without recruits.

So that's why I wonder, would Texas have been unstoppable if he went there instead of Sark?

I think he would have been very successful at a school with resources, especially one that could recruit itself.

He would have been perfect for Miami. Once he would have gotten some wins in the ACC, his recruiting would have been very strong there.

Unfortunately, we'll never have the opportunity to witness how things would have turned out.

I do wonder though, with these relatively younger guys dropping from heart conditions, are these things that could have been caught with better screenings?

Aneurysm can be caught with a screening ( I think with an ultrasound )
But unless you have a family history - it’s unlikely you’re going for a screening

Eric wahl made the claim he was murdered , silly goose
He now retracts that
I’m not surprised grant’s brother, SMF, and you were duped. Often when you want there to be injustice, you’ll jump to illogical conclusions rather quickly. But in this case, I truly get it. If you looked up “young fit man”in the encyclopedia, Grants picture would be there. It’s beyond strange and ironic that this happened to him after poking the bear in a hostile country. I listen to a guy every morning on a radio show who was one of Grant’s closest friends. And to hear him the past 3 days talk about the irony of this happening there, given Grant’s activism, is a coincidence beyond comprehension.

I just heard about as OC at Oklahoma leaving a fake offensive play sheet for the Texas staff to find. Texas took the bait and OU put up seventeen in a hurry by UT trusting the fake play sheet. Texas ended up winning anyway, but what a great story...and a true one.

No duping
I was just recounting his fear out of his grief
I didn’t draw any conclusions

I’m in the donor gift business. Anyone who gives the gift of life as their final act, is a true hero. God bless him.
I added the donor thing to my license a while back. Now sure what will be worth using but they can burn what's left and scatter it in the meadow near my camp. That would make me happy.

I’ve been a donor for as long as I can remember. I don’t really understand why someone would not want to. There are so many people in need, and just because someone is a donor doesn’t mean the circumstances will be right to donate when the time comes.

I couldn’t imagine being on a waiting list for a donor “part” with little hope in receiving help.

I've heard some people cite religion as a reason not to but that's largely BS. Some people seem to think that if medical people see you're a donor they'll let you die so they can harvest your organs. Have heard that a couple times.

That just reinforces the thought that people do what they want to - if you want to do it, you’ll find a way; if you don’t want to do it, you’ll find an excuse.

Can’t take it with you - it’s a no brainer

Yeah I used to hear that too that first responders and doctors won’t save you if you’re a donor. Crazy to think that people would do that, but misinformation didn’t just start in the social media and cable news age.

Nobody is checking your drivers license while treating you acutely -
People are terribly informed

Heck the skin , long bones , and cornea are hugely helpful to plenty of folks - Nevermind the organs
