This topic came up in another thread and I didn't want to hijack that thread. The more I thought about VJ stressing that this week is an important game, the more credence I gave it.
Thus far Pitt is 3 - 1. The loss came against an Iowa team that appears better than most expected. They are currently a ranked team. We lost by 3, in their house, in a night game, on an improbable field goal with no time left on the clock. There is no shame in that loss at all.
So far we have no embarrassing losses. If you look at our remaining schedule, we can least afford to lose on Saturday against a perceived weaker team, on homecoming with a house full of recruits. There are surely bigger wins to be had this year, but there would be no bigger loss than one against UVA.
