which is worse? being a perennially bad team, or being a dominant regular season team that perennially chokes in the Big Dance?
Virginia = Washington Captials. Im loving this.
seems like fans hate the team that chokes more than they do the team that never even makes it far enough to choke. Expectations are higher
-Perhaps. I just hate Virginia's style of play. I hate the Capitals trying to injure players on purpose constantly in the playoffs including the Penguins. Considering both choke, they go hand in hand.
The former, of course.which is worse? being a perennially bad team, or being a dominant regular season team that perennially chokes in the Big Dance?
The former, of course.
UVA's biggest problem is they can't score. This makes the ACC look bad. UMBC is doing what most ACC teams couldn't do.
I always thought UVA was well coached but not extremely talented. This is different from the Capitals who do have talent but no heart
I've posted no less than 5 times over the last couple weeks that there is a sizable minority of fans at Pitt who would rather suck really bad, rather than be good and lose in March. They just can't handle disappointment emotionally. The former and it isn't close.
And Dixon got crucified for not blowing a 16 seed out of the water.....
Pitt was in real danger in that game, they could’ve definitely lost to East Tennessee St that day.
The #1 seeds with the high powered offenses rarely struggle against the #16’s, they score enough points that superior talent eventually takes over. The defense oriented #1’s that sometimes struggle to score don’t have the same margin for error.
UVA will win by double digits.
I'd agree with that. It's happened quite a few times over the years. Off the top of my head though I don't remember a 1 seed ever trailing by such a large margin so late in the game.Pitt was in real danger in that game, they could’ve definitely lost to East Tennessee St that day.

Exhibit A
-It happened to Uconn once too, I cant remember which year
I’ll take that bet.UVA will win by double digits.
I’ll take that bet.
I think Purdue was a 1 and it literally went down to the wire with a 16.
