I've followed this board far too long. And said I followed people with original posts I saved. It's not Curtain, Vader isn't arrogant and cocky. Vader isn't doke, doke only had insiders, zero scouting. The last writeup says look for a full scouting report if Wahab commits. That screams Putt12 or maybe bman. I've been told to take my medication, I've been told im Steel Curtain, Doke, phil and who knows tommorow who someone claims I am. Vader I think is Putt12. Get off him and stop hating on him some of you. I'll tell you what. If it turns out I'm wrong Ill quit posting and just watch the board again. If I'm right, someone can buy me a beer at a Pitt game . Seems fair

Man I sure hope you're right about this - it would be so awesome to see that quality of thought regularly here again. I've used those freaking out on him as a meter to get the trolls all on Ignore. I don't have time anymore to read crap like that.
I remember a time when this was the best free college message board on the web. Guys like DT, Bman, Putt, 17-15, were the norm, and we regularly chased away the trolls that mostly ended up destroying a beautiful thing in the end, probably about 10yrs ago it really started going South.

I know Simmer. It's not him. He also stopped posting once Chevy left. He wasn't a Pitt fan. He just coached Chevy.

Even though I take it all with a huge amount of skepticism just like anything else posted on this board, I actually enjoy reading the posts. It is a really nice summary of the kids that are targets of this staff. Maybe it has an optimistic spin to it but so it doesn't bother me because I have tempered expectations. I understand not all these kids will pick Pitt.

If he wants to take the time to post it, I'll read it. It's interesting, even if it's just opinion or guesswork.
I would be ecstatic if it was Bman, but I don't recall Bman with posts that long although I could be wrong on that.
I don't get why some guys are so offended by these posts. It is a message board. I read everything with a grain of salt anyway and whether this guy is right or full of crap doesn't affect my life one iota.
Personally, I enjoy reading these posts and haven't spent this much time on the free board in 5+ years. Also, let's not forget that the Sixers recently got rid of Bryan Colangelo because he and his wife used fake accounts on message boards to reveal confidential information. I am not saying these two situations are similar. But, the Sixers information that was leaked on those message boards was 100% accurate. You never know!

IMO BMan was always hands down the best at providing recruit assessments and opinions. Straightforward and, as you say, understated and not self-promoting. The anti-Steel.

Yeah, after he spent months telling us all how Diggs was going to be pretty much the greatest center ever to play at Pitt and then claiming that the only reason that didn't happen was because he never got a chance to show off his game he really didn't have even a speck of creditability left.
The meltdown he had before leaving the boards is the stuff of legends.

That’s not quite true. He was here after Diggs left and acknowledged that Diggs did not do what he needed to do to be successful at Pitt.
Sure, he originally was offered ideas such as Diggs being a capable three point shooter. But I think he gave enough of a “my bad” on this one.
But yes, he left soon afterward and only returned for a short while to tout a guy from his high school who ended up at Arizona State I believe.
Joe ... that’s not totally true. He did tout Cassin ridiculously, but I clearly recall his backing off after Diggs failed. I remember this clearly because I was expected him him to more bitter than he was, and I recall clearly how surprised I was.
Nonetheless, Vader is certainly not simmer.
He made at least one post where he said that the reason that Diggs failed was because he was so misused here, and that he would show that where he went next. Which ended up being, iirc, Towson State, where he spent a couple seasons mostly riding the bench.

Yeah. Some of the acrimony and seeming resentment over posts that suggest a potentially positive trend about Pitt hoops recruiting on the part of some is difficult to understand. Especially on a Pitt fan message board.
Until someone signs it’s ALL speculation. No different than commenting on anything else that has yet to have happened.
Message boards are a dying medium. PL is still active but the way people interact on the internet has moved on from the message board. New members rarely join message boards in this day and age. If Vader wants to come in and make stuff up, i’m All for it as long as it generates more activity on this board
