I think UGA was a situation similar to Pitt and Jamie Dixon. The fan base just got a case of Mark Richt fatigue and it had been a decade since he last won the SEC. LSU is pretty much the only school with true Saban envy. Most other schools are a little more realistic. Their true freshman QB is going to be special.

Captain, you are right. Neither PSU, Pitt, nor WVU has anything close to an impressive victory on their resume. At least the 'eers have a little time in the Top 25.
BTW, I think Franklin is going to finish this season ahead of Dantonio in the standings... Something that you said would never happen.

Second game next year against PSU will be tough since Pitt has a new QB. Pitt can win up at crappy valley, since PS will still have issues at line backer, OL, and DL is still not packed with 4 star talent. But my case has been next year the nits schedule will be where the rubber meets the road. I see 5 to 7 wins and that is optimistic. Even at 7, Franklin is under some real fire.
If they only win between 5 and 7, he should be gone. They should be better than that.
We have improved in the standings.. PSU has not...and they won't this year. 4th place at best.
MSU is having a bad year, but they are still wayyyyy ahead of psu.
Psu will be 7-5 again and 4th place in their division.... no improvement in 3 years under Franklin.
One more thing if you think PSU hasn't improved their quality of play this year I question your football intelligence.Another thing never down play your opponent's strength after a victory be it 1 Pt or 50 pts it makes you look like you've never been there before!It's like chanting overrated when a rank team is getting beat,I could never understand that.
Their offense is slightly better the defense is much worse... overall team has not improved. Anyone who thinks otherwise, I question their football intelligence.
PSU had the slowest / weakest front 7 we have faced all year...Villanova included.

Omg I broke down and used Google and I found something out about what Franklin did at Vanderbilt!Do you realize that from 1983 untill 2016 Vanderbilt had 3 seasons of winning football and Franklin had two 9-4 seasons there.Yes I guess it's easy to win there!

He used the Franklin formula of scheduling extreme jobbers (Elon, Presbyterian). Plus beat a 4-8 Florida team that fired their coach, a 5-7 UT team that fired their coach....notice a trend here?
Burger should come by and post the chart for you and TD_nitter about how great the Franklin years were at Vandy. Don't worry mexi, maybe this will be the weekend you and TD will celebrate over Franklins first win against a top 15 team.
They won back to back bowl games against NC State and Houston. They beat UGA in 2013. Franklin did things at Vandy that just DO NOT HAPPEN THERE.
How many Top 15 teams has Narduzzi beaten? I can't think of any off the top of my head.
Burden of proof is on you counselor. And that power house Georgia team was 8-5 and also got their coach fired a few years later. So if you are hanging your hat on that one, might as well claim the victory for Pitt over VaTech or Louisville last year. Plus Narduzzi has 1.5 years, Franklin is in year 6.

Slick, your problem is that you are putting Vandy on an even playing field in terms of expectations with every other college program. It does not work that way. There are far too many disadvantages.
I'm not look at it in terms of my fandom. Of course I hope Pitt kicks PSU's ass every time they play, regardless of who is coaching. I'm just looking at it objectively. I think Narduzzi & Franklin are both improving their respective programs. Narduzzi has done a little more, but neither coach has really done a bang up job. They both desperately need to kick their recruiting up several notches if they want to be anything more than a 7 to 9 win program.
