And that photo is from the 2023 season. Hmm
Don’t tell a certain poster. Only 12 people and family members care about games.
Yeah - I was surprised how inexpensive the tickets are - $20 for all sessions both weekends seems like a steal. I wouldn’t have blinked at paying $40 for all session tickets both weekends.Pitt needs to start raising ticket prices, idk how it would work with title 9 and everything, but I don't think its unrealistic to think that before long Volleyball will start to pay for itself. My hot take is that in a few years volleyball will pass WCBB in popularity.
Please go awayA little misleading. They put more games on ESPN "1" which always gets good ratings no matter what's on. Now part of that is that ESPN believed it was good for business so they see some value in it. But this isn't an apples to apples comparison. I certainly think WVOL is gaining in popularity but when you see TV numbers, for any sport really, networks spin those like a politician does. You can make them say whatever you want. So, yea, volleyball is growing. But you need an apples to apples comparison. Shouldn't be comparing 2024 ESPN or ABC games to 2023 ESPNU or ESPN2 games.
Yes....I have a hotel reserved....but paying around $500 a ticket to watch in person ain't gonna happen. The Yum is a 20,000 seat venue. I just fail to understand how this happened.Yeah - I was surprised how inexpensive the tickets are - $20 for all sessions both weekends seems like a steal. Fwiw - tickets to the final four on seat geek are really expensive. Be curious how thst market settles closer to final four weekend .
I assume that, if Pitt makes it, the school will get an allocation of tickets that can be purchased by season ticket holders (or at least by some). Not sure how big that allocation is.Yes....I have a hotel reserved....but paying around $500 a ticket to watch in person ain't gonna happen. The Yum is a 20,000 seat venue. I wish that was correct....but last year Pitt got an allotment that only was enough for the team, coaches, their families, and a few more. When it was all said and done....their was only about 50 tickets left. Pitt has complained about this to the NCAA to no avail. Maybe we'll be pleasantly surprised this year....but I'm not getting my hopes up.I assume that, if Pitt makes it, the school will get an allocation of tickets that can be purchased by season ticket holders (or at least by some). Yes! Your bitterness and tears sustain me.A little misleading. They put more games on ESPN "1" which always gets good ratings no matter what's on. The third party connections to the ESPN tournament pick-‘em’ that give prizes are probably just bots and the big increase in new club memberships in JVA are just a fluke.Don’t tell a certain poster. Only 12 people and family members care about games.

seriously, ffs. imagine being that miserable.
I was referenced in this post, so I responded. Some of you dont like truth. I said the sport is growing. The sport is growing nicely, so much so that it is getting air time on ESPN 1 and ABC. But that doesn't make what I said about the ratings untrue. The real comparison will be in future years when they can compare ESPN and ABC games year over year. Even then, though, TV ratings dont tell the whole story. Lets say that ratings are worse next year. That doesn't mean the sport stopped growing. It could just mean that they were up against some really good competition on other channels in that year.
Here's the context. ESPN (and Fox with the B1G) now has a secondary product to sell to advertisers in time slots where they are against the NFL or night time CFB. Is it some massive product? No, but it's something that is attracting interest across a pretty broad demographic and that's worth something to their advertisers. It's really good news for the sport.so there's context in any tv rating. we never would've known that.

Ticketmaster has them for as low as $11 plus fees for the NCAA Semis upper bowl. But the lowest for the Finals is $105 . Ten times the difference between semis and finals??? Odd..Yeah - I was surprised how inexpensive the tickets are - $20 for all sessions both weekends seems like a steal. I wouldn’t have blinked at paying $40 for all session tickets both weekends.

The key is to just wait it out. Today is actually the last day that volleyball coaches who are there for the convention can buy tickets through the AVCA. I'm sure some inventory will go back to the NCAA, and some coaches may leave early and post their Finals tickets.Ticketmaster has them for as low as $11 plus fees for the NCAA Semis upper bowl. "especially Louisville fans when they get bounced"..........music to my ears! The key is to just wait it out. Fans will dump tickets when their team loses, especially Louisville fans when they get bounced. When I went to Omaha, I ended up getting a pretty good upper-bowl ticket for $33 on the day of the National Championship.
