The volley talk board is into the Pitt - Louisville match. You probably know that these matches are becoming legendary for their spiciness....mostly due to the VVG - Luper stare downs. The volleyball enthusiasts are now running a poll for (1) who wins and (2) who gets the 1st official warning. Pitt is in the lead for both.....70% are saying Pitt wins and Bre Kelley is out polling everyone for the 1st official warning. I love this stuff.....enjoy!

I wasn't aware that warnings were issued in volleyball. I've watched several matches and have never seen a warning issued. What kinds of things do they issue warnings for?
Things like yelling at an official…..taunting players on the other team…..for example. It’s rare but it happens.

Delay of game.
Illegal substitution.
Throwing the ball over the net after a point.
Uniform issues.

It's a very public way of letting a player or coach know they're getting on the official's nerves. Red card is more or less the same reasons but you've crossed the line. Automatic side out so loss of serve (if it's yours) and a point. Then there is the yellow and red together which is an ejection.

In some leagues they have a purple card which is for fans. Fun.

What do I have to do to get a purple card?
